An interesting stat!
Georgia having nearly a 1 1/4 yard difference from the #2 team is amazing!

The gap between 1 and 2 is bigger than the gap between 2 and 12!

It’s amazing what your defensive stats look like when you get to play these schools EVERY year:
South Carolina
Vandy
Kentucky
Mizzou

There's some truth to the criticism that they haven't played many good offenses, but they're still very, very impressive.

Kentucky is a good team.

Yes, but their offense isn't exactly high flying. That's the point here.

Yep. About 70 offensive plays per game is average, so that's close to 90 yards per game less given up by Georgia!

AM played two of those 4 and UGA has played 3 s far. It’s not making that big of a deal at this point.

They are impressive and really good. But they annually play 4 out of 6 terrible offensive teams in division.
This is why Georgia is scared shitless about changing divisions up.

Seeing it up close and personal, it's something to behold.
I have been to a lot of college/SEC/Auburn games and I have never seen a defense as big and fast and tackle as good as they do.
It pains me to see that it's UGA that built it, but as a fan of defense, it's beautiful.

I want to see how they do against a team that can really throw it. You won't line up and muscle them, they are built exactly like early Saban teams when Kirby was at Bama.
Stop the run. Big linemen and big fast LB's. Someone has to test that secondary.

I'd like to think that's Alabama, but until Bryce gets a better touch on his deep ball I don't see it. JaMo has the speed, but that doesn't matter if Young can't hit him in stride.
I would have loved to see this UGA defense vs 2020 Bama or 2019 LSU. That would have been a hell of a game.

Can Bama protect Young enough to give him a chance against UGA?

Respectfully I must call bullshite on Georgia being orders of magnitude better.
Gergia first team defense gave up 210 yards to South Carolina.
Texas A&M first team defense gave up 11.
Yeah I know transitive and all but Georgia's schedule is not exactly murderers row. I did not say they weren't better but saying orders of magnitude better is an overstatement.

Presently, no. He'll have to throw on the run more.
Sadly it looks like our scheme is built on pocket passing, but our OL isn't there. Some spots sure, but others - no. With Bryce's legs, we would have been better suited to building the scheme around throwing on the run and moving him out of the pocket.
