How much improvement do you guys think the Bama defense will have this year? I know we have some injured guys coming back so that should help with communication and some studs waiting in the wings. I’m hopeful at a sizable improvement.

I think they will be better but not that "typical Bama defense." Golding is just not the greatest coach imo. But talent alone will make them good enough.

I assume it will be a obvious improvement on the field. I also dont think AU will take as big of a dip as some think and will be a solid unit again

Significant improvement. They went from young to vet laden and deep. There's no way they don't have a top 10 unit.

Problem for all of us is the ACC may have half of the top 10 strictly because of competition.

Their secondary was their weak link last year. The key will be the improved QB play and coaching in the rest of the league.

will be no more. its an offensive game now and the rule makers/enforcers will have it no other way

I sadly agree with this. I’m kinda old school and remember those days when the defense didn’t give an inch. Now, hell it seems like everyone can throw for 600 yards a game. I always did enjoy a tuff defensive game.

They'll improve over last year but you guys will still have those moments due to expectations.

Rules currently being considered for 2021:

1. Tackling offensive players now requires written permission from the player's parents

2. Running the ball between the tackles is considered "being nice to the defense" and is awarded an extra down to the offense

3. Sacking the opposing QB requires the defensive player to sit in a booth for 5 minutes while a rep from the conference explains why it was wrong to do so

4. Interceptions only count for 1/2. On every odd interception the QB gets a "do over".

5. Punters are shot before entering the stadium.

6. Drives now start on the 40 yard line.

7. Defensive coordinators are required to be offered a lifetime supply of Scotch in their contracts.
