Andrew Whitworth was in Rich Eisen show a few weeks ago. He said when he was a freshman at LSU he was late for a meeting and Saban humiliated him in front of the entire team. He said he hasn’t been late for another meeting since.

And, a lot of guys on that Washington team were Chris Petersen/Jimmy Lake guys who had matured.

That was most effective because Whitworth was a stud from jump. It showed Saban's leadership and that even stars would be accountable.

Sure but he was head coach and turned over the roster and won multiple NCs including a roster that was all his.

Shaft, this story came out three hours ago.

Do you honestly think an LSU fan hasn't already posted it here?

They were also almost dead last in the country pass defense and had 9 games last year decided by 1 score

And that's not in the SEC.

Also, he’s built winning programs at every level.

Sioux Falls - 4 years HC, but their program was set up by the previous HC
Fresno State - 2 years ( one was Covid)
Washington - 2 years

That does not look like an impressive “program building” resume.

However, in CKD’s defense in this new era of NIL and transfers we have yet to see a program build a foundation that carries through multiple seasons. Maybe he will be the first to do that?

He was a coach from 2005 - 2009 and last I checked that’s 5 season and complete roster turnover. He won the NAIA championship twice with his own roster.

He made Fresno State and Washington better.

I’m an Oregon fan and don’t really care for him. That said, his teams got better under him and I got a good look.

The dedense at UW started playing more physical under him. In fact, a lot more physical.

Bama can run him out of town but it would be stupid in my estimation.

I've been in management for 40 years. It's always better to start out a hard arse and soften up if your employees earn it. If you start soft and then try to tighten up, almost never works.

I think CKD did the later and it's going to be hard to tighten the reins now.

So...are you hard on the 25 incoming employees every year then ease up ....what about the 1/4 of your staff that leaves every year. ?

I get what you are saying but Bryant wasnt as hard as Saban. He was tough but he wasn't a clip board breaking type of "emphasiser'.and there are things he did early on that he wouldn't have done again Deboer is not Saban but he's also not Bill Curry

FYI

I said this shite over the summer when Milroe was gearing up for the next play after completing a pass in practice, and DeBoer insisted that Milroe celebrate. Milroe loved it though.

DeBoer is a pussy

This is why you don’t want to follow the legend. You will never replicate the results, and any difference in approach gets identified as why you aren’t meeting the old standards.

Eventually, the coach ends up chasing his tail over things like tucked in shirts and isn’t even running the program his way anymore. At that point, whatever success they had that got them hired in the first place starts to fall away since are beholden to the boosters/admin/fanbase outcry.

I don't really recognize you nor am I familiar with you as a poster. But That is a hell of a take, and very well crafted. Nice job!!!

Intensity can’t be easily turned on or off. Saban radiates intensity. Obviously Kirby is outrightly intense and his team looks like they chew glass for fun.

I’m sure he’s a good X and Os guy but sometimes you need to look like you’re in a war not a Sunday afternoon pickleball match

Having some time to think over how Bama is playing, I’ve come to the following conclusions.
1. Have to back off DeBoer bashing and be a real Bama fan and support team win or lose.
2. DeBoer needs at least 4-5 years to fully populate this team with his people.
3. Parity is coming to the SEC rather quickly. Somewhat shocking actually.
4. Old school, hard nose coaching like Saban will not work in the new NFL lite SEC.
5. DeBoer has the No. 1 recruiting.class, why? Players like him.
6. It will be next to impossible going forward to field an undefeated team in the SEC.
7. DeBoers style IS NFL . His style is the future for success. Sabans style is not.
8. The era of dominance like Bama had with Saban is over.
9. Programs will have to compete money wise for the best players. For this reason, I see a 2 leagues of 32 teams, run by a commissioner, with NFL style draft and collective bargaining. NFL style playoffs and Title game Saturday of Super Bowl Sunday.
10. Those not lucky enough to be in either league will just form their own league with same style playoff etc.

So, beat Missouri and Roll Damn Tide.

In 40 years of watching football I've never seen what happened with Malachi Moore.

When Malachi Moore kicked a ball the refs had just spotted, refused to come out of the game and DeBoar stood there on the sidelines....I knew right then and there he's a big arse pussy and

It's over.

The whole fricking thing is over, dude.

You cant even tell your own team which 11 players are going to play on a given snap? Your career is over, you are done as a football coach forever, book it. You will never win anything of substance and you will probably never coach anywhere again after bama runs you off next year.
