Danny Kanell says Georgia is 'not close' to Alabama based on resume
Through the first 5 weeks of the 2021 season, Alabama and Georgia have been the two most dominant teams in college football. Fans and media members alike have debated whether the Crimson Tide or Bulldogs should be ranked No. 1. On Tuesday, Danny Kanell weighed in.
The CBS Sports analyst and SiriusXM host said that based on resume, Alabama is the clear No. 1. Kanell added that he’s not impressed by the passing offense Georgia has faced so far.

If anything…based on resume Bama is #1 and it’s not close. Georgia’s defense has faced the following:
117th pass offense
84th pass offense
88th pass offense
95th pass offense
98th pass offense
Some real tests coming up for Dawgs tho
Auburn 57th

So Alabama's resume is better because they faced better passing attacks? What about rushing attacks? Defense?

Then let me settle it. Alabama should be #1 until somebody knocks them off. There should be no debate.
He talked about passing teams we faced, but never mentioned running teams. I wonder why?

Kannell is a complete imbecile..
The mere fact that he says this leads me to believe UGA will win the National Championship..because I don't recall a single time old Danny Boy was right about anything

- UGA gives up 78% of opponents average Passing Yards Per Attempt (not including UGA games)
- UGA gives up 44% of opponents average Rush Yards Per Attempt (not including UGA games)
The passing offenses UGA has played are pretty awful (Clemson, Carolina) or entirely based around running the ball (Arkansas), so it's fair to say the jury is somewhat out on the pass defense.
But what they've done against the run is absolutely stupid insane.
