We're 22-2 in SEC road games since 2011.

Yes, terrified of road games.

Ummm. No. It feels like I'm messaging with a moron who tries to change the subject when he looks the fool.

I still think Tech fans troll better than Gumps.

Then why don't y'all schedule more of them?

Why should UGA, UF, USCe, and UK be forced into a totally inflexible scheduling setup because everybody else schedules 3 cupcakes?

Not all power 5 conferences are created equally

:kige:

Point #1
Only the the SEC has 6 pre realignment teams in the Top 15 all time winning percentages. The next closest conference only has 2 Top 15 teams which means the next closest conference only has 1/3 the historic power thew SEC does.

These teams include Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Georgia, Florida, and Auburn

Point #2
Only the ACC and SEC have 4 annual fixed cross conference games and only the SEC has another 4 to 8 games which are played every 2 to 5 years on average.

4 annual
Florida vs Florida State
Georgia vs Georgia Tech
South Carolina vs Clemson
Kentucky vs Louisville

+ games (not played annually but played quite often)
Clemson vs Auburn
Clemson vs Georgia
North Carolina vs South Carolina
Miami vs Florida
etc, etc

As for the B1G / PAC / B12 this is their cross conference annual games
Iowa (B1G) vs Iowa State (B12) - neither is an elite college football program

ONE SINGLE CROSS CONFERENCE GAME AMONG 3 of the 5 POWER CONFERENCES.

Sure it is easy for a B1G, B12, or PAC school to want 9 games when they have more weak conference teams AND they have the extra slot for the 9th game because they are not locked into annual or semi annual cross conference games like the ACC and SEC.

Therefore, not all conferences are created equally and until the others start wining like the SEC, they need to sit down and stfu!

Yea, we just schedule Southern Cal and Florida State at neutral sites like a bunch of pvssies.

The fact that Alabama schedules one really good Power 5 team out of conference a year isn't special. Little old South Carolina plays Clemson every year and pretty often we play a second Power 5 school in a year. Georgia does the same. Florida often does the same as well. No idea why Alabama feels they need a 10 game conference schedule to do the same thing a lot of us already do.

I bring up scheduling OOC home and home series and only 1 person had to deflect. Not only that, your deflection lacked wit, creativity, and humor.

Do you even remember what this thread is about?

Because our coach likes the following
- ability to schedule big 1 time matchups is much easier than H&H
- playing in big recruiting markets (ATL, ORL, DAL)
- our players get a dry run in stadiums that host SECCG, Playoffs and Title games

I'd rather play more home and homes, but to seriously act like it's because we are "scared" is pretty dumb.

So are you just going to ignore the fact that a 9 game conference schedule essentially prevents UGA and UF from doing those things? Don't you think Saban knows that?

I think he's said numerous times he'd like 9 games and a mandatory 2 P5 OOC schedule so that teams from the East can have 1 game like that plus their rival but not feel like they are forced to overschedule compared to everyone else.

In his perfect scenario we all play 12 P5 games anyway. But obviously that won't happen unless there's a clean break in P5 vs G5.

It is easy to have a "hard" OOC home and home when you are the little brother to GA Tech

You are a no one. So you have to play someone

He also knows that would never happen.

Everything Saban does is designed to create an advantage. That's why he's so good. That doesn't mean every other school should go along with it.

I think most things are, but he also just has lots of ideas about the game itself. I think this is one of those times. I don't think he's thinking about the fact that UGA is going to have to only play Tech + 9 games a lot (and that wouldn't really even be a disadvantage, it would just be boring and annoying as hell for UGA fans) and how it could possibly give him some sort of edge.

I understand the East teams with ACC rivals point of view, but if we aren't allowed to scrap divisions (which is the ultimate solution), there has to be something to do to play cross divisional games more often. I don't want that to be killing UT-UA and UGA-AU, but if that has to be on the table so be it.

Not all power 5 conferences are created equally

Not all power 5 conferences have the same number of teams

Not all power 5 conferences have the same number of BYE weeks

If you look at it in terms of NFL talent- There are really only 4 power conferences

Then make every P5 (or P4) conference the same size with the same # conf. games. This way everybody is on a level playing field.

Because it's 2017 and Georgia still hasn't played Texas A&M yet. That's ridiculous.

You've had 1 OOC road game since 2011.

If I was going to picture a team that is afraid to schedule away games (again, Alabama controls Alabama's OOC scheduling), it would be a team that has scheduled only 1 true road game in 7 seasons.

& what's wrong with 9 games? Hell, since the SEC ADDED 2 MORE teams to the conference, ADD MORE conf. game to the schedule. Nobody in their right minds think you can get bigger & NOT change anything else to accomodate.

I don't really care if we ever play A&M. We never did before, so we don't really lose anything. I'd like to play Bama, LSU, and OM more, but not at the expense of losing our ability to control any of our schedule.

I 100% agree. I have family that live in Georgia and they come in or we go there anytime LSU and UGA play. Those trips have gotten farther and farther apart, and it's fricking ridiculous.

The permanant division opponents need to end so we can keep alternating inter-league play.
