When will people start giving him the respect he deserves?

Yeah when you’ve won as many championships as Dan you deserve respect right? He’s a bum…0–11 vs Saban…this guy lost to Matt Luke…that is all.

I mean Florida played a hell of a game, but look at Gus's record against the gumps and still zero respect.

He’s lost fewer than 3 games exactly once in his career, and couldn’t even win his own Division that year.

He’s a fraud. A phony. A bum. He’ll win 9 or 10 games per year and finish 2nd in the east until UF gets sick of him. He’s the SEC’s version of Bo Pelini. A supposed “guru” on one side of the ball who will never build a complete team.

Idk about that… I’m not sold on him long term but UF won’t get anyone better firing him right now.

Florida has been right there with Bama both times with Mullen coaching.

Now if he continues to keep Grantham long term… yeah that’s an issue.

He's a master gamer and when they get on par with Bama's talent level ...watch out SEC!

Oh, and he’s 6-7 vs Top 25 teams while at Florida. If you add in his years at MSU, you’d think he were a better fit for USF or FAU.

Look at the rest of the coaches in the country against top 25 teams, with that big of a sample size.

Look I’m not completely disagreeing with you on your take big picture, but this is over the top.

Mullen is an excellent coach and gets more with less than any coach I can remember. There’s not a player less than a four star on Bamas front 7 and he designed and called up beautiful run plays that gashed Bamas front all night. Bama had no answer.

Mullen never recruit well enough to sustain success in this league.

You could tell the bama D was getting frustrated on the field.

It just wasn’t enough in the end.

I get the feel that you think I’m trashing UF - I’m not. If the high end of average is what you guys want, then that’s exactly what you’ve got, and there’s no reason to be bothered by what I’m saying.

To this point, he’s never shown any ability to sustain something other than the high end of average. He’s loyal to bad coaches & less talented players, and his recruiting is more on par with Miami & Michigan than it is with UGA & Bama. That’s going to be a problem, IMO.

Not a lot of HCs I would fire him for, if that's saying anything. I never believed in firing a HC just for change.

That said, I think he's a top coach and we're really just now seeing him coach his players that he brought in and he took Bama to the wire.

It’s the old school true spread option which he ran at Utah and UF under Meyer.

He’s tweaked things over the years, and he significantly deviated from that with Trask the last two years but offensively he adapts his scheme to fit his personnel.

He’s a top 3 offensive mind in CFB along with Kiffin, and Riley/Sark.

His overall ability as a head coach long term still is a question mark for UF but I have no questions about his ability to coach offense regardless of the talent.

0-11 vs Saban.

Usually craps the bed at least once a year.

Well hes given Florida a consistent top 10 team each year he’s been here.

That’s not where Florida wants to be, but that’s UFs best success since Tebow was here.

He’s proven his ability to coach in big games at UF against ranked teams, but he’s gotta make tough decisions with his staff, with Grantham, and he’s going to have to up his recruiting to compete long term with UGA and Bama, every year.
