Was it me, or did he seem uninterested Saturday? Seems every time the camera was on him, he was staring off into the distance with no expression on his face like there was somewhere else he wanted to be.

And did the Bama DL lying on Dak on the last drive of the 1st half cause Dan to call a run up the middle on 3rd down?

I doubt he was uninterested. He was probably frustrated as hell, since they couldn't get in the end zone, and the pass rush was so intense.

At the end of the first half he had 3 timeouts and time enough to try something. But he did nothing.

That's his Alabama is going in dry again;I can't do anything about it; therefore, I will just gaze into the sunset so as not to feel the pain

To me his face said, "I need less rough and more diamond out there."

Team with a lot on its mind. The memorial for a fallen teammate was Thursday. The funeral was Friday. Coach Mullen been out of it the whole week.

Plus, Bama was the better team.

Holding onto his timeouts, and then complaining about Bama laying on his QB, was one of the weirdest coaching moments I've seen in quite a while. I'm not sure he was disinterested, but his head definitely wasn't in the game.

I forgot they had 3 timeouts. That run up the middle on 3rd & 12 was just weird if you're in your 2 minute drill.

Don't use that crap. Mullen wouldn't. The team wouldn't. It's the fact that every play imaginable requires at least decent oline play. That was nonexistent. So he literally could not fathom a solution to what was going on. Had absolutely no answer for the problems. States line was poor all year. But they've been serviceable in pass blocking. But that was with every player healthy. The season has beaten them up. They don't have depth on oline. Not a good recipe going into a game vs Bama who is hitting their stride. It's gonna be tough to finish strong for State. Their line is very banged up. 2 good dlines left to play.

Just thinking about the tasty muffins Megan had in the oven at home waiting on him.

He's obviously already reached an agreement to coach Bama next year after Saban moves on to Indy. Or Detroit.
