College football is almost back. Don’t believe us? Florida head coach Dan Mullen trash-talked Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs at SEC media days on Monday.
Georgia is, once again, receiving plenty of hype ahead of the 2021-22 season. There’s plenty of reason to believe the Bulldogs can finally live up to it. Mullen is skeptical.
During SEC Media Days on Monday, Mullen was asked what he thought about Georgia being the “team to beat” in the SEC East this upcoming season. Let’s just say he doesn’t expect much from the Bulldogs.
“Didn’t they say that last year?” Mullen said after getting asked about Georgia being the favorite in the SEC East.quote:

Let’s be honest here. Dan Mullen isn’t necessarily wrong. Of all the teams in college football, Georgia might be the biggest underachiever. Perhaps this will be the year the Bulldogs finally get over the hump.
Georgia has one of the best quarterback situations in college football this upcoming season. Other contenders, like Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State, are each ushering in new starting quarterbacks.
JT Daniels has plenty of experience and played like a potential Heisman candidate down the stretch of the 2020 regular season. As long as Georgia’s defense lives up to the hype and Daniels continues playing well, the Bulldogs will be a championship contender.
Florida, meanwhile, is expected to take a step back with Kyle Trask and Kyle Pitts off to the NFL. Don’t tell Mullen, though. He’s clearly confident the Gators can win the SEC East.

Same guy got ran out of the stadium by Oklahoma. What do we care? Maybe he should work on less show throwing.

Seems like you care tbh…
And what the hell is show throwing?

I'm not one to advocate players sitting out, but IMO Trask should've never played in that game either, once he saw the writing on the wall.
That whole ordeal was embarrassing for Florida, and the conference.

Except more people and publications had Florida to win the East last year but keep being an arrogant POS Dan.

Mullen is such a fraudulent bum.

Hate to say it, but he put on a coaching clinic against us last year. Figured out that we couldn't defend the wheel route and ran it over and over until the game was out of reach.

Wasn’t Florida projected to win the East by the majority of the SEC media after Jamie Newman opted out?

Yep, you nailed it.

Trask's numbers when targeting position groups:
- RBs - 10 receptions on 11 targets for 212 yards and a 91.9 passing grade,
- TEs - 6 receptions on 7 targets for 150 yards, two touchdowns and a 90.8 grade

Man I could've sworn there were several mainstream sites/publications last year that picked Florida to win the East.
And the ones who did pick us all said that there was a high chance that we could lose to FLA and miss out on ATL.
Either way good game to you Gators in 2020, you beat the snot out of us. Looking forward to this year with an actual QB and hopefully a secondary that stays intact.
Oh and please throw a few more wheel routes, I'm not so sure it will have the same effect.

Lolol University of underachievers. And that’s not just football either, that’s basketball and baseball too. I can’t imagine how embarrassing it must be to have not won a championship in a big 3 sport in 30 years. It’s a real tragedy. Oh well

It’s not hard really. You know how you don’t really think about 2008 every morning? Well over a decade? It’s kinda like that but longer

The dude has a short memory. Florida was the team picked by most writers to win the East in 2020. When Florida is picked to win the East then Georgia is generally the team to offer the most competition in the East.

Didn’t they NOT say that last year?

We were saying that before we had Dawn Mathis/Stetson Bennett as our QB. Mullen has delusions of grandeur.

Was anyone in the sec media smart enough to correct him? Probably not.
