Haha putting the blame on Croom still. What is left to clean up since he has been on the job since 2009? I can understand the Croom blame back when he first started but come on all these recruits are Mullen's.

FYI when someone puts asterisks after a sentence it means they are being sarcastic. You quoted his sentence but you left off the two asterisks he put right after it.

You really dug deep into the "Larry the Cable Guy Joke Book" for that one.

Nobody is bragging just pointing out you look almost as pathetic as your head coach in his press conference this week when you're throwing shade at a school you currently have a losing record vs this decade. Shouldn't you be shite talking Tennessee fans right now anyways or have you given up like the Shark fricker already?

Going to be more and more of them as he's able to pull in more talent. Improvement is a slow process for schools that are outside the traditional top ~15.

He's starting to land some top defensive and now QB talent due to the track record of producing big time NFL guys. Just need to be sure and keep him around to keep the ball rolling.

The truth is any non traditional powerhouse is lying to themselves if they think they can quickly built into a top tier program. Sadly you have to work toward getting there in 20 years, not tomorrow. Build for the future and don't compromise the process.

Building quick is a good way to have the NCAA come calling, just ask the OM posters.

I'm holding out hope that you crawl back here with your tail between your legs on Sunday.

I know you won't. But I'll gain at least a modicum of respect for you if you come back and take your licks after all this shite you've been talking.

I'm going to stick up for the Grinders by slapping them in the face. The fact that he has won a game vs LSU/ALabama is impressive.

I would say beating AU is also impressive, but Chizik/Malzahn are doing their best to help other coaches improve their Win%

Dan Mullen looking for for his 5th win over a Top 15 team by theoracle1
You talk about his disadvantages, but one big advantage Muffin has had is a complete joke of a schedule.

His non conference schedule is usually roll on the ground laughable. He gets Kentucky as his yearly opponent from the east. Those things plus Dak are largely what his modest success is built on

The SOS is top 25 every year. Usually top 20

Yeah two of Muffin's three wins against Auburn came with Dak as his starting quarterback. 1-5 against Auburn without Dak.

I said both an easy schedule and Dak were responsible for Muffin's modest success

Muffin still has a losing record against Auburn for his career. Just like he does against every other halfway decent team

So is a coach supposed to win with players he signed and developed? What are you talking about here? That's like saying Saban only wins because he got good players and coached them up.

SummerOfGeorge: Where do you get you info on stats like this? I used to use the CFBTrivia website, but that site hasn't been working for several months. Any other good sites at running reports of team results over specific periods of time?

He also had them ranked #1 with like 3 games left in the season a few years back. I don't think any coach they've had has ever done that.

Mullen is 1-21 outside of 2014 vs Top 15 teams. That one win was 8-4 Texas A&M in 2016.

The three he beat in 2014 were all 8-5 teams. Never seen a team jump from unranked to #1 in three weeks by beating three 8-5 teams in a row, two of which didn't finish in the final top 25, while the other finished #22.
