To win back to back New Year's Six/BCS bowl games in his first two years as a head coach with a program.
This despite having more three stars than four and five stars before he arrived. Inheriting a four win team. Now he has added a much higher blue chip ratio. He has a returning QB that was one of the best in the league, and has depth on both offensive and defensive lines for the first time since he came here.
Dan is building Florida up. Improved the last two years, and it would be weird to assume a sudden regression for his third year. Especially with us having our easiest schedule in years.
Back to back BCS wins says Florida is close to being back to an elite program. Now he just needs to make the final push.
Chip Kelly...thank you for backing out and saving Florida. You sir, are a hero for being shady.

UVA won't end the season ranked. Huge win.

Where has UVA been ranked recruiting wise these last 5 years or were they just in the others recieving votes category.

I called the Mullins to Florida thing more than a year before it happened IIRC.
Nobody should be surprised he's doing well there. He's a damn good coach.

We don't choose our opponent.
We just win the games. Not our fault the ACC produced a weak opponent. We barely cared and still won because of how bad they were. Can't blame us though, just stupid bowl tie ins.

Mullen is a very solid coach. Florida's floor with him is very high.
The question about him is the same as it always has been, can he take the program he is coaching at to that next level above where they are. He never really could at State, and so far the jury is out at Florida.

Houston Nutt won back to back Cotton Bowls in his first two at Ole Miss. This “record” is simply a technicality.

Miss State was winning 2-4 games a year for Mullen.
He has literally already done that at his first job. He raised the bar at State so high, they just fired a coach who went to two bowl games. Go look at their history and tell me that isn't a higher bar.

When Nutt won the Cotton Bowl, it wasn't considered a BCS bowl and had a minor bowl placement. The playoffs changed it around. 8-4 wouldn't get you in the Cotton bowl now from the SEC.

Mullen did a great job at State, but winning 8 games was not some foreign concept there. What Mullen did at State was consistently win 7-8 games for a decade, which was very impressive. Sherrill won 7, 7, 3, 8 games from 1991-1994 and then 7, 8, 10 and 8 games from 1997-2000
Mullen only won more than 8 games at State 2x, but he only won less 6 1 time. He was impressively consistent, but he never finished in the Top 10, never won the West and never had success against good teams.
So, again, Mullen hit a very solid bar and stayed there for 10 years. Mullen has hit a very solid bar at Florida, but he has to prove he can get above that. He didn't at State. I'm not saying he can't, I'm just saying that is his next step to take. And it's a really hard step to take - especially if you are't recruiting in that elite Top 5 stratosphere (which he isn't).

Mullen is a great coach. Not sure how some people don't see that. Not certain he can win a title unless he starts finding elite QB's though. He can win 10 games over and over with a Kyle Trask, but not championships.
If he had Dak at Florida he would have a title tho.

How many scholarship players were on the field at the end of '17 compared to '16?

Mullen is a good coach. Anyone that can win 10 at MSU is a good coach.

Those kids don't get to make out with his wife if they don't win. Good motivation
