The Razorbacks are hopeful Franks will end the carousel of players who have taken snaps in recent seasons.
Two years ago, Arkansas flip-flopped between Cole Kelley and Ty Storey well into the season and true freshman Connor Noland even made a spot start because of an injury to Storey.
That was nothing compared to what unfolded last season. After once again going back and forth between quarterbacks - this time Ben Hicks and Nick Starkel - early in the season, the Razorbacks ended up using five different starters over their final five games of 2019.
Including Austin Allen in the 2017 finale, Franks will be Arkansas’ 10th different starting quarterback in 26 games. The Razorbacks used 10 different starting quarterbacks in the previous 163 games, dating back to 2005.

Poor o line play and subpar receivers plus empty backfield usually equals pain

Does Auburn have enough qbs to run Chad’s offense?

terrible recruiting

Our receivers aren’t bad and Boyd is a very good rb.
The oline was a designed product of the coach.

Our receivers are far from subpar. Knox/Burks were the leading freshman duo in the conference last season, even with this crappy QB play.
And luckily we brought Pittman back to Arkansas to help with OL play. When he was here during the Bielema era, we had really good offensive lines.
And Boyd is a top 3/4 back in the conference

How is this possible? Were y'all starting walk-ons?

To be fair, we've recruited pretty good. We did have a mass exodus when Bert got fired. Some also didn't buy into Chad. We have a strong qb, rb, wrs. O line isn't much help, but will only get better. Little behind on offense, but the cupboard isn't bare. Hell at one time we had like 5 4* QBs recruited, had two 4* QB xfers last year, but never worked out. Chad and Chavis were garbage and this reset should be finally putting a foot forward.

Four scholarship QBs and a walk-on. Truly a train wreck of epic proportions.

Chad and Chavis
Those 3 words triggered a memory of Chad’s first lie he told us. He’s going to get the best DC in the land and boom bam splat along comes Chavis.

I'm honestly curious how the transition is/was with briles. I mean chad taught them that offensive way, but was never fast.

That's like, your opinion man.
Pickens and Blaylock had more catches (20 more) and TDs (8 more) in 2019 than Burks and Knox.
I will give you the crappy QB play.

We are expecting the mad bomber.
We are expecting our safeties to be attacked on long balls more than any other game this season.
We expect the tempo, too.
But a ton of teams play tempo.
Cine and Lecounte will either be heroes or in the dawg house after saturday.

Mind me asking where you saw this discussed?

2 different Georgia podcasts.
Jim Donnan is the expert panelist in one of them. The other was 247sports.
I dont know Briles. Donnan claims to know Pittman very well and claims that he had to be convinced to convert to this type of offense. He could be full of shite. But he has been the first to bring good Intel on the UGA program regularly (called out Cager for a great 2019 season back during spring and summer skeletons. Called out Mathis as legit last spring and this fall before the rest of the media the past 3 weeks).

Interesting! Thanks! I really haven't kept up this season, really only started posting back on here a few weeks ago. I haven't checked my 247 in months, probably should cancel it

Gus Malzahn did this in one game in 2016.

Dsmn. The only poor kid not to start it seems is John Stephen Jones. Ouch

Honestly you can just pencil that in as poor coaching.
What truly, truly, stung about QB play under Chad was that, as sure as the setting of the sun, the starter would play like crap. Then the back up would come in and show signs of life.
So next week the back up is the starter!
Now he looks like complete dog mess and the next QB to relieve him, once the game was out of reach, looked great.
The more time our coaching staff spent with our QBs the worse they did. If we had hid all of our QBs during the week and just trotted them out there at game time we might have won 9 games last year.
