Coronavirus could be Saban's saving grace

Who can forget 2019, a year in which we witnessed the greatest college football team ever assembled win it all?

But where there is birth, there is death and the 2019 season in Tuscaloosa could be the first knells of the death bell of a dynasty.

However, should the 2020 football season be canceled, the nationwide murmurings of Nick Saban and tDecline of the Alabama Crimson Tide Elephants may be quieted a bit.

Lets face it, losing 3 of 4 games against ranked teams was not good yet Alabama will depend on Macaroni Jones to lead them out of the hole they dug for themselves.

The same young Jones, who could not beat a four loss Auburn team despite having four future NFL starting receivers on his squad, will now be expected to run an SEC gauntlet with two of those weapons now gone.

A much maligned defensive unit will return after having barely any time to improve throughout the spring even though many Crimson fans expect linebacker Dylan Moses to somehow perform miracles on the porous unit and somehow make their once proud defense whole again.

The Bammers will also face an early season test against Georgia, a team that while good, has drastically underplayed its potential in the previous fourty seasons and will place their hopes in the hands of an oft intercepted, former ACC quarterback named Jamie Newman.

You cant help but wonder if Nick Saban is quietly cheering on the cancellation of the season to cool his seat a bit, a seat that got hotter after calls for his firing came from every trailer and holler in Alabama at various times throughout their previous season.

Only time will tell if this is merely a bump in the road or if the mighty pachyderm has finally caught a glipse of its mouse.
