Some will say it is because Simone Biles did not compete, but remember: Suni Lee going to Tokyo Olympics after rare win over Simone Biles on Sunday at US gymnastics qualifying Suni Beat Biles happened a couple of weeks ago.

Outstanding!

I hope they focus on her guts and steely eyed toughness to get past the largest distraction at the Olympics for that group of gymnasts.

Suni is a stone cold killer.

Not to mention that the mental game is part of...the game. It's not like Simone turned an ankle while breezing through. Had she competed I don't think it's even close to guaranteed she could have outdone Suni based on how Biles was performing earlier this week.

Apparently the mental issue that Biles is dealing with is a kind of vertigo gymnasts can experience that they call the "twisties" and it can cause you to lose sense of where your body is when you're in the air doing all those twists and flips. And with all the twisting Biles does and the insane degree of difficulty of her moves, a bad episode at the wrong moment could lead to a serious injury
