If it actually happens this time around, I can't wait to watch/hear the talking heads and talk radio folks eat crow about how we had no shot, were going to settle for the 5th choice again, etc. etc.

Update from 247

quote:

Are there any legs to all the Jon Gruden talk?

The talk could be gaining some traction, according to some sources, but remains extremely fluid.

GoVols247 was told by two sources Thursday that first-year Tennessee athletic John Currie flew to Tampa, Fla., Wednesday night, where Gruden lives and works out of his infamous Fired Football Coaches Association office.

Talk inside the Tennessee athletic department has led some to believe that the Vols have made a pitch to Gruden, the Monday Night Football color analyst and former Super Bowl winning head coach with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Sources have also said that the Vols have given Gruden a deadline on making a decision. If the decision isn’t in Tennessee’s favor, Currie could turn his attention to Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen.
Mullen, we reported on Wednesday, is believed to have reached out to the Vols multiple times to express his interest in the opening.

Gruden vs Saban would be nice.

I live in Tampa now.

Didn't see their plane.

Was outside for like two hours.

Story is made up.

Guess who is also in Tampa...

Charlie Strong but I would rather Gruden be UT's HC than Strong

What would be hilarious is if both Florida and Tennessee get their guy, Saban retires and no one will know how these match ups would go. Everyone that’s not Bama wants to be the team that toppled the dynasty in Tuscaloosa, and Saban will rise off into the sunset on top of the world.

The SEC may be good again, very soon. Let's say we all get the suspects thought to get

Florida - Kelly a top five college coach when he coached a few years back
Alabama - Best coach in CFB maybe ever and when he retired Dabo a top five current coach
Arkansas - Norvell - A strong minded up and comer offensive coach. Still unknown but could be very good
Tenn - Gruden - Super Bowl winning coach and house hold name
Aggies - Morris or Fedora - Both good coaches
Auburn - Gus - Not elite but certainly not as terrible as Auburn paints him sometimes he is in the top ten and has gone to a title game after all
LSU - Ed O - Still 50/50 on him

We'd be strong. Very strong.

I can't wait for UT to dish out $10 million on a guy that hasn't recruited since 1990.

That's the dumbest fricking thing I've ever heard.

The fact that you and the same few UF posters pop up in every Gruden thread, saying the same shite over and over and over, speaks more volumes on how you truly feel inside than what you're projecting on this forum.
