I wanted to take a somewhat advanced look into Jimbo and his time at Florida State. So I extrapolated stats from seasons with Jameis Winston (2013 & 2014) under center and seasons without him (2010-2012 & 2015-2017)

The numbers in parenthesis is where FSU ranks compared to the nation within those extrapolated ranges.

Record against teams who finished the season ranked in the AP Poll
-With Jameis: 6-1 (only loss to Oregon in CFP)
-Without Jameis: 9-14

Offensive points per game
-With Jameis: 42.68 (5th)
-Without Jameis: 32.71 (28th)

Offensive yards per game
-With Jameis: 480.21 (12th)
-Without Jameis: 410.98 (49th)

Offensive plays per game<--Personally surprising
-With Jameis: 68.36 (94th)
-Without Jameis: 65.61 (118th)

And now for an advanced look at how efficient Jimbo's offenses were. We are going to be using EPA (Expected Points Added) today

EPA per offensive drive
-With Jameis: 1.20 (6th)
-Without Jameis: 0.54 (30th)... for reference A&M was 34th at 0.50

Stats can be misleading. His first couple years he built that program back up after it fell off the map. Last year that team just kind of quit. That would be my biggest knock on him... for whatever reason he has had teams that seem to quit on him. I suspect its because he doesn't recruit enough "culture" guys, but loads up on premier athletes.

Jimbo is a great offensive mind, but his passing offense is complex - which means it will probably take a year or two to find the right QB that can execute his offense.

He also understands really well how to develop a program. He was ahead of the curve when it comes to using analytics and data for peak performance.

Despite A&M's impressive resources I do think they have a bit of a brand problem today. FSU's brand was still strong when Jimbo took over for Bowden. I think that could easily change with some consistent success.

He has the ability to elevate the program to 2nd in the West behind Bama (as long as Saban is there), and a consistent top 15 team.

Other than Jameis, Jimbo really did a nice job developing Ponder. He wasn't a highly recruited guy, but turned into a really nice college qb.

Manuel was a talented guy, but he didn't seem to trust himself. I'll never understand why Buffalo took him in the 1st rd.

After Winston, Jimbo struggled getting a big time qb. He gambled and lost on Malik Henry.

With Jameis: 27-1 with two conference titles and a natty
Without Jameis: 56-23 with a conference title

Who in the SEC has a record better than 56-23? Saban. Kirby, even if it is a limited data set. That's probably it.

Teams with a better Win% than Jimbo during 2010-2012 & 2015-2017 in the SEC

Alabama: 76-8
LSU: 60-17
Georgia: 59-23

For Ref: A&M went 50-28

Edit: Did this off of your 56-23 number. I have FSU at 58-22 in that span. In that case, we would eliminate UGA

Exactly. So even if you take out his two best years, giving him no credit for a 27-1 record over two years, his record still put him toward the top of the league. That's remarkable.

Except he was in a different conference. So that's a really dumb comparison

He was in the conference that has arguably outperformed the SEC over the last few years.

Florida Fans... See how dumb Dan Mullen is. Instead of paying the most dominant player ever he passed on him. Could have won State a NC that year.

Watching LSU fans break their backs trying to discredit Jimbo is hilarious
