"While we know that Michigan, Penn State, Ohio State, Texas A&M, and Tennessee have the stadiums with the largest seating capacities in the FBS, which programs do the best job of filling their seats?

Think about it – isn’t consistently selling every available ticket more impressive than having the most seats to start with?

But nah. The football program should be kept open and they deserve their own stadium being built.

People were so upset that the program was shut down and threw a hissy fit but they won't go and support an 11 win program.

So Old Dominion does better attendance wise than Ohio State and Auburn according to this list?

I can't see anything wrong with it

Lol no one supported that program before they planned to take it away.

Went to a UAB State game in 2011 at Legion and there weren't even 100 UAB fans there.

That was a complete money pit to bring them back and it will cost UAB when they could've just focused on basketball

I can't imagine Rice when just a few years ago their stadium seated 80k.

Shutting down uab probably helped them. Got some folks off their butt and gave some money so they could at least have uniforms. Still, when u average 26k (they claim it was 26k) a game like last year, I can't see how u support an fbs program. Jax state averages in the 20s.
If uab just focused on basketball they could become a force in basketball. Football has made both sports mediocre.

130 D1-A/FBS programs is absurd. There's at least 40-50 schools that have absolutely no business at that level.

You don't notice UAB is playing in a stadium that seats 71.6k? UAB would be selling out the stadiums of several of the teams above them on this list that aren't even filling half of their stadiums but I don't see you crying about any of them. A brand new smaller stadium is opening downtown in time for 2021 that's much closer and much easier to get to from campus, and then UAB will be on the top half of this list and you'll be able to stop crying.

I live about twenty five minutes from Middle Tennessee’s campus/stadium. It’s a middle school stadium on steroids. Concrete and metal bleachers throughout. It’s horrendous. It’s also a suitcase school. No one stays on the weekends.

I find it more impressive when schools in smaller towns (e.g., KState/Manhattan, KS) draw good crowds, vs when schools in larger cities (e.g., U of Washington/Seattle) do.

Les is going to feel like he’s in a library, compared to coaching in Tiger Stadium.

This is a bit misleading. Some of these schools with 100k plus seating will be 75% full. They claim a sellout because the seat is sold

OMiss 59.3
UF 71.9
TA&M 72.6
UA 76.7
USCe 77.8
Aub 78.5
Mizz 82.8
UT 88.0

This is true of some schools but Nebraska and OU are always full of asses in seats.

“Nebraska boasts a sellout streak that dates to the 1962 season. But during last year’s 4-8 record, there was an average gap of more than 18,000 per game between scanned and announced attendance—mostly no-shows, a spokesman said.”
