Below is an updated ranking of College Football's Top Programs, based upon National Championships and Historical AP Poll performance... rewarding more recent success on a sliding scale compared to success many decades ago.
1. Alabama- 1,285
2. Ohio St.- 991
3. Oklahoma- 977
4. Notre Dame- 856
5. USC_ 777
6. Michigan- 728
7. Nebraska- 672
8. LSU- 652
9. Texas- 639
10. Florida St.- 578
11. Florida- 574
12. Miami- 573.4
13. Georgia- 572.7
14. Penn St.- 546
15. Clemson- 510
16. Tennessee- 494
17. Auburn- 482
18. Michigan St.- 362
19. UCLA- 333
20. Texas A&M- 300
21. Washington- 292
22. Wisconsin- 284
23. Arkansas- 269
24. Oregon- 256
25. TCU- 245
Other SEC that are close to Top 25:
30. Ole Miss- 220
38. Missouri- 163
There was very little movement this year Upon us winning the National Title, Georgia gained +70 points from last year's point total, but only moved up one spot, switching spots with Penn State at #13.
Florida actually gained a spot, moving 1 point ahead of Miami as the 3 programs from the Sunshine State could not be any closer.
That was the only movement inside the Top 25. Iowa and Georgia Tech switched spots at #26 and #27 with the Hawkeyes jumping ahead.... GT was a Top 15 program in college football at the end of the 1960s but has slowly declined down to #27 since their peak. Leaving the SEC was not a good move for them, IMO.

With just a Top 10 finish next season, Georgia will be in the Top 10.

Hard to believe we are top 12 given our lack of success post Meyer

Joining the SEC will not help Missouri - I mean they made the back-to-back SECCGs but honestly, I don't see them getting back for awhile... and I mean AWHILE.

Well that's the whole point of ranking programs.... a few bad seasons can't break you and a few good seasons can't make you either. Florida has 3 National Titles since 1996.... they are sure to be relatively high on the list.
Your lack of success pre-1990 is doing more to hold you back than your post Meyer years.

I cringe when I see this every year. Arkansas was in the 18 range 10-12 years ago.

With our lack of proximity to talent, lack of population and near past struggles, It's amazing Arkansas is or ever was in the top 25 of a list like this.

LSU is in blue blood territory

Arkansas was once a solid program. Here's where they ranked at the conclusion of each decade:
1960s: #16
1970s: #15
1980s: #16
1990s: #19
2000s: #19
2010s: #23
Now: #23

What kind of bullshite “formula” rating is this?
And why are you presenting it as fact?

So basically Alabama would have to stop playing football for 125 years for the other SEC schools to catch up.

then that superb magnetic personality started recruiting at georgia and they went from a college team to an Alabama style millions-for-players

It's weird when SCar fans talk shite about Mizzou considering it only took y'all 3 seasons in the SEC to jump them.

I feel bad for Tech. Thought they had something with Collins.
