Never understood the idea sticking to a Top 25 with baseball and basketball, 300+ teams and still only a Top 25 released, like FBS football with 130 teams?

because that one loss doesn't matter. If LSU would of lost the Saturday game to Army LSU wouldn't of moved in rankings either. Now Louisville lost 2 games and only scored 5 runs in those two games combined and they dropped.

For the most part if a team wins 2 of 3 in weekend they are not going to drop in rankings.

Probably said it 100x before but I always find it interesting how large the disparity can be between baseball polls. So many teams are off by like 6-7 spots depending on the poll. Clemson is #14 in one and #24 in the other.

Insane.

I have to type it every year like clockwork but as a public service reminder here it goes again ...

Baseball polls, more so than any other polls in college sports, are as useless as tits on a boar hog.

Baseball polls matter not one iota until late April at the earliest, early May in reality.

Hold serve with your home series, don’t get swept on the road, and you’ll be okay.

Win a couple of games in your conference tourney if it helps and then play your regional like it’s a new season. Same goes for the Super.

The teams with the strongest pitching staffs who make the fewest mistakes advances the farthest and wins championships. You gotta have one or two clutch players, real leaders, and you can do anything if you just stick around and make the tourney.

It’s the beauty of this game and the polls don’t mean doodley squat.

This could be said for pretty much every other college sport or any other sport with rankings and I don't disagree with any of it. My point is for some reason no other sport seems to have polls where teams can have such a disparity between its rankings.

It doesn't really matter, just an observation.

Arent you the guy who freaks out every year when Tennessee beats a bunch of crap teams in February and March then disappears? I remember when dave serrano was there, someone started referring to the February national champs as the "basevols"

maybe because nobody is going undefeated in baseball and they have more talent than everybody else?

.....and it's the first weekend of the season.

Baseball is harder to judge. You have 1 QB in football, 1 PG in basketball, while you have 5 starting pitchers in baseball. Your top 2 are more important, but just imagine your starting QB only playing once every 5 games.
