I know people like to bag O, and it’s very easy to see why, but he did guide them to a top 10 finish this year.

Probably something like 44M over 16 years. But I’m just guessing.

So you're saying LSU has a coach that can get them to a NY6 bowl and top 10 finish for only 3.5 mil?

Cool.

I’m cool with the extension and to give him what he’s worth because as of right now he’s severely underpaid compared to the comps. Where I’ll have a problem is if LSU gives him a Texas A&M style buyout.

I'd actually be okay with a raise if he puts together 11 wins next year, but I'd never be okay with a buyout like Jimbo's.

Well, scoring 72 in a loss in football is impressive. Got to be worth something.

Saban doesn’t need an extension. He only needs someone to fill his nutsack with viable sperm so he doesn’t have to buy kids off the fruit truck

At least LSU has “one of them” and “someone that talks like us” as a coach.

Congrats to the best coach, not named Saban, in the SEC this season.

Excellent work.

After coaching through five overtimes while soaked in Gatorade, he certainly deserves it

How does his record compare to the records Les had? Is he that much better or have expectations lowered? I’m glad he’s at LSU personally.

I just don't get this. Nothing against Ed O. really and Ole Miss did the same thing w/ Luke, but what is wrong with the deal he had? 3.5 mil w/ a nice bonus through 2021.

Well, in les first two years he was 11-2, pre stupid bama-saban era. O has gone 9-4 and 10-3 *(we all know should be 11-2). Not as good. However, the program does seem to be on the uptick again, which after 2011 with Les, it seemed to slope down. While I think he is a total idiot, as long as he continues to recruit well and have a decent staff, I dont see why he cant win 10 games or more a year. Les miles was also a grass eating moron, and won the west 3 times and played for 2 national championships. Louisiana is a gold mine for talent
