Not a joke thread. My wife texted this to me today. The niece has a scholarship offer from UK (academic). Is this normal part of a basketball coaches duties? This doesn’t make sense. Does this actually happen?

(No pics of either)

Is she dating a 5-star recruit?

It may be an automated message. It seems like I may have gotten one of those when I applied and was given a scholarship, cant remember for sure though

If its a big academic scholarship, it wouldn't surprise me if he personally called. Him and the basketball team are part of UK's brand

Seems believable to me. Cal is a hell of a recruiter.

I'm not sure if it's normal or not, but Cal is the most benevolent person I have ever seen as far as being a coach, and maybe that is a thing he does for the University? No idea, but cool none the less.

Pretty sure they got the sisters wrong if this is the case. The younger one is all about diversity.

He is extremely supportive of the entire athletics program as well as the university overall. He’s also very community oriented. I think it’s pretty typical of him.

That is a shite ton of phone calls if he does this for academic as well.

It could be a specific scholarship awarded by the university that is limited to a certain number of people.
