Central Michigan had reserved a hotel in Baton Rouge, but that hotel is now full of workers who are working to restore power and provide aid in the effort to put Southeast Louisiana back on its feet after Ida hit the region hard with 150-mph winds on Aug. 29.

"They are flying in the day of the game," LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette confirmed to The Advocate on Thursday.

I was down there last week for some help with a few clinics in the area and yeah all of the hotels in the area were packed full. Ended up overnighting in Biloxi.

They didn't see this coming? Game should be in Michigan. Pathetic.

Flying in day of is not a big deal, easier in many ways. Damn planes go 530 mph. Not much difference than a bus ride.

Weird thread. Sucks for CMU but it’s necessary with how many people are still displaced.

LSU should kill them either way, but more important things in life than football. Central Michigan getting paid either way

Maybe they didn't want the repeat of last year game between the Missouri-LSU game that was supposed to be played in BR but went to Columbia, MO for the game and LSU got beaten to an underdog Missouri team that had a first year HC. Is this the real reason? :)

This is Louisiana. Conspiracy theories should be limited to crooked politicians instead of actually succeeding in something.

Governor issues order canceling all hotel reservations except for Ida recovery, companies book all the rooms then bill the state, Louisiana gets reimbursed by FEMA, companies then donate to Louisiana politicians.

Simple solution - don't play the game in that craptastic stadium or city. Probably reeks more than normal.

Just a joke man. Most people on this forum are Gulf oriented so we understand the pain and frustration of dealing with the ramifications of this kind of weather. Harvey took a toll on our family and many others I know. Llano flood wrecked our house too. It fricking sucks and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. Thankful to be alive and thankful for college football. Hope the recovery is quick and as comfortable as possible for those impacted in your area.
