Here are their opponents according to ESPN FPI:

#11 Texas A&M
#18 S. Carolina
#21 Florida St.
#46 NC State
#49 Syracuse
#54 N. Carolina
#65 Boston College
#66 Louisville
#82 Georgia Tech
#121 Charlotte
FCS Wofford

In all seriousness, has a National Title contender ever entered a season with a schedule projected to be so easy?

They play three teams projected to be in the Top 45 (all of which will be played in their home state).... compare that to an SEC team like Auburn who is projected to play 7 opponents in the Top 16 of FPI.

Hasn't it always been this way

It's why criticism of SEC OOC schedules is a joke and has been since at least the 2004 debacle

Yea, and it isn't really their fault - I mean they play 2 OOC Top 20 games. The ACC is just very bad right now outside of Clemson.

Yes. It's the perks of the ACC.

Florida state often had the same road to the national title with having a cake walk until they played Florida. So they could rest guys up during the season and only have to get up for one game. The ACC is a joke

I'll believe it when I see it. FSU was horrible last year

Yes.

Signed,
FSU in the 90s, Miami in the early 2000s and many others.

PS It's preseason. Clemson's schedule might turn out to be a bit tougher than people think. Stop whining.

Good point - Miami of the Big East as well (though they usually had FSU and some combo of Syracuse/Virginia Tech/West Virginia that was Top 15/25).

Alabama comes to mind. Everyone seemed to be down on them on their schedule for last year.

Texas A&M will beat them in week one. But that'll be their only loss and they'll back their way into the playoffs A LA Alabama (get it?).

Miami hasn't won anything of note since joining the ACC. Their success was all pre ACC.

Not defending Clemson, but schedules are set years out.

As much as I would love A&M go beat Clemson, I see it as a blow out win for Clemson. A&M fans will start doubting themselves about their 75 million dollar man.

Right, in the early 2000s they were in the Big East and faced similar schedules littered with lots of very bad teams and only 1/2 games against Top 20 caliber opponents.

Explain how they can rectify this other than winning all their games? Answer is they can’t. Just blow the doors off everyone to 15-0 like last year I guess. I guess Oregon would get the same scrutiny next year if they blow through their schedule, beat Clemson and beat Bama by 28 in the title game next year right? I’m not seeing Bama fans complain about Clemson’s schedule, only wannabes.

Not their fault - they play a perfectly fine OOC schedule (very good, actually).

The ACC's usual upper level teams other than them are just trash right now : Miami, FSU, Virginia Tech - usually Top 10/20 programs that went 7-6, 5-7, 6-7 last season.

IMO, the ACC is as bas as it has ever been considering how down the usual contenders like FSU, Miami, Va Tech are at the same time...it flat out sucks balls. I won't attempt to defend the ACC, but Clemson has played two SEC opponents every year since 2010, with the exception of 2015 when they traded an SEC opponent for Notre Dame. So the OOC games haven't been too shabby.
