Fickell had some swagger getting off the bus. Bama better be ready.

They're super seniors. They should be loose and confident.

USC, in the same stadium, was about as loose and confident a team as I've ever seen before the 2016 game. They lost by 50.

We'll know what we need to know in about 90 minutes after both teams have a possession or two.

USC was in the game until Saban put Jalen Hurts in.

And then they lost by 50.

Being swaggy in pregame doesn't mean shite either way. That's my point.

Very possible. I expect Bama to win this game, but these super senior teams are a different animal.

Until 2018 when Tua took the starting role and Alabama started their "offensive era", most teams have been "in the game" vs Bama for the 1st quarter during season openers vs the Power 5. Michigan was the only team that was not within a score (21-0) and that was the repeat/defending NC that blew the doors off the wolverines. Saban used to feel things out early in those openers.

This is actually a good point. Cincy starts 5 super seniors. The super senior rule is a large part of at least some movement toward parity. A SS is more valuable than a five star freshman.

Agree. The extra super seniors in a lot of mid-tier teams this year really elevated the level of play for a lot of teams. Lots of good teams around the country this year. Much more parity than normal.

Can you imagine it being the year 2000 and referencing a game from 1987 as an example of what you think will happen in a current game?

Well then I guess Bama should just pack their bags and go home. No hope now.
