Sauces say he wants his next job to be a head coaching position but is looking at LSU as a possibility.

Obviously I'm an LSU fan but I feel like LSU would be the perfect opportunity for someone like Freeman and get him some much better looks for head coaching positions than he'll get from being at Cincinnati.

Of course, if Tennessee or someone else grabs Fickell, then he'll likely be promoted to head coach at Cincinnati.

Yes, Freeman is only 34. He'll be a college head coach very soon.

Would be a good hire by LSU. Hopefully for LSU he doesn't raise the same insecurities in Coach O that pretty much every coach who understands football beyond "rah-rah we comin" does.

I know Freeman is the hot name right now. But why would LSU want a one year DC. If he comes in and has a good year he is gone. And also, why would Freeman want to take a chance with LSU. With NCAA looming. Coach Orgeron seat getting a little hot. Why gamble your career?

I agree on all counts. Would be a home run hire, though.

I’m so jealous, Ed at least isn’t stubborn, he’ll pay what it takes to get good coordinators. He’s so much better than I thought he would be.

Same was said about Aranda

What does O's seat getting hot have to do with Freeman?

What happened with the rumors y'all were interested in Mason?

I've heard they like him but like Freeman better.

Orgeron has to get these hires right. He's had way too many failed hires and too many that he's had to fire, reassign or bring in help for after 1 season. If he brings in a guy that has success and moves on after a year, he can at least show that he made a good hire.

If the Head Coach gets fired the staff normally gets fired.

Not all the time, for instance, Aranda was retained by O when Miles was fired. If dude does a good job, he may even could put his name in the hat as a potential replacement.

I agree.

Better to be looking because your guy was good as opposed to whats going on this offseason.
