He's local here in ATL GA on AM680 The Fan

Was on FB scholarship at Auburn in the mid to late 80s played very little

Pretty good at his job, does a lot of research, is one of the best CFB talk radio guys you'll find

Finebaum isn't even in the same universe as Chuck Oliver when it comes to CFB analysis and talk

Finebaum is connected with the SEC Network & ESPN so he has a bigger platform than Oliver, compared to Oliver, PF is a 2 bit hack

We just got Olivier in BR and in my opinion he is fantastic.

I have loved his material and presentation so far, outstanding.

Multi hour radio shows are going the way of newspapers. Podcast are starting to dominate that industry. Podcasts are much shorter and you can fast forward what you don't want to listen to.

Guess it all depends on the listener's bias.
Oliver is an Auburn grad and it seems Chuckie
is too much Auburn, or not enough:

"Chuck Oliver suck it !!!! I’ve listened to that idiot for the last time!!!! I have listened to his auburn dumba$$$,but not anymore. He’s ripping the entire georgia fan base. Screw him!!!

"What is the deal with Chuck Oliver ???? Didn't he supposedly play for Auburn? If so, when? I never, ever hear him say anything I would consider pro-Auburn. Why is that?
Sounds kind of Pawwwwl Finebaumish, play one against the other.

Chuck and Chernoff are great, or they were. I haven't listened to them outside of a couple specific situations (Braves, few Falcons things) in years.

Podcasts only now

Buck and Kincaid are unlistenable to me. I’ve tried and they just annoy and bore me to no end.

Chuck and Chernoff are good. Interestingly enough one of their producers - Carlos - is possibly the the best part of their show. Front Office Los is legit. Dude knows more about the numbers of sports than just about any person you will hear on mainstream sports coverage.

Does this board give out automatic downvotes for mentioning Finebaum?

Kincaid is solid. Buck is as good at radio as he was at playing quarterback in college.

Finebaum has a different platform. He's not a true analyst. However, he is kept in the know about all things collegiate sports related. Especially where football is concerned. He stirs a pot and waits.......

Chuck is a good guy. Does he have an Auburn bias? Yes, but I think in most situations he controls it pretty well. Get him in a more controlled setting where he is around all AU folks, then it will come out.

It has been a while since I have been to one, so I'm not sure if he still does it, but he used to MC the Atlanta Auburn Club's annual meet and greet with the football coach.

He told a story that his freshman year, he was an offensive lineman in one of his first fall camp practices and right across the line of scrimmage from him was Tracy Rocker. Dye's staff at that time would yell out what play was coming, so the offense had to be extra good at their execution, because the D knew exactly what to expect. I don't remember the whole story, but basically he said he remembered hearing the "Hut!" and the next thing he remembers is Rocker offering him a hand and pulling him up after running right over him and blowing up the play in the backfield. He said Rocker's hand was the biggest hand he had ever seen.
