Did you chastise bama fans for bitching about the bye weeks?

Me personally? No. I think the scheduling should be equitable for everyone regardless of the team. I actually thought Bama had a legit issue when that happened. And guess what, the SEC office acquiesced. Surprise, surprise...

And I still say, as soon as UT turns things around the Administration in Ttown will want to do away with permanent opponents.

Before 14 teams, you played 3 cross divisional games Bama was set to play UK, UT and UGA

Besides UT

it was

12' Vandy and UGA
13' UK and UGA

Most likely C-Low wrote the blog based on Fowler's comments yesterday.

I edited.

The UGA/Bama game was to take place in 2012. In the bridge Scenario, why did the rotating opponents have to change at all?

It should have stayed the way it was, and opponents should not have been swapped.

For instance.

Bama played At Mizzou and had Tennessee at home
LSU played at Florida and had South Carolina at home.

The schedule was originally supposed to be:

Georgia @ Bama
Bama @ Tenn

LSU @ Florida
South Carolina @ LSU

But it got changed to this:

Mizzou @ Bama
Bama @ Tenn

Florida @ LSU
LSU @ South Carolina.

But instead of honoring return trips this year, its:

Bama @ Kentucky
Tenn @ Bama

Now tell me the logic behind that.

Now, don't misunderstand I am not implying the league office will immediately cave, but I can assure you that King Nick will HAMMER who ever the new AD will be about eliminating that game if BJ turns it around.

Tennessee has dominated Alabama before, and the game goes on. I know that will likely come as a surprise to LSU fans who weren't LSU fans before Saban got there.

There are other teams to consider besides Alabama's opponents FWIW. The odd number at 7 teams in a division and only 1 game to place made it very hard

The schedule isn't equal. That's just the reality of it.

If you want to say Alabama had an advantage last year over LSU and has an advantage again this year, I'm right there with you. It isn't fair.

If you want to say Alabama wasn't the best team last year, go frick yourself. Respectfully.

What most people don't seem to realize is that the bridge schedule, while touted as being totally independent of previous and future schedules, actually used the same rotation of cross-division games as before. It just made them all 1 game series instead of 2 game series.

For example, prior to expansion LSU was scheduled to add USCe in '12 and UGA in '13. That's exactly what happened; they're just 1 game series instead of 2 game series.

Prior to expansion, Bama was scheduled to add UGA in '12 and UK in '13. UGA got swapped for Mizzou because Mizzou obviously had to have a 2nd cross-division game.

People seem to be under the impression that the bridge schedules were supposed to be totally random yet LSU got 2 very difficult cross-division games whereas Bama got 2 weak cross-division games by way of collusion. That's not the case.

Well aware of that, but I also know how Nick is. I once heard Skip Bertman tell a story about how Nick bitched him out and made him take Texas Tech off the schedule because "I'm not trying to defend some dumb arse offense and lose to Texas fricking Tech."

Nick hasn't become as successful as he is by being a dumb arse. He knows that with A&M on the rise, LSU where they are, possibly OM coming on with Freeze and Arky with a big hire he doesn't need to risk fighting off a good UT. If Butch turns things around and Nick is still the coach at Bama, he will want that game gone.

In 2012, they took UGA and Vandy off the schedule and game us Mizzou and aTm. Sounds like an equal trade to me.
