He slowed down Gus' offense, told Gus to leave. Isolated himself from the players. Installed Tim Jackson as a middle man. His ego got too big.

First loss in 50 years to Kentucky, first and second loss to Clemson in 50 years. Worse loss to UGA ever. Worse team since 1950. Felony 4. Rent a cops to watch players.

will you be Pat Dye's puppet?

Yes.

You're hired.

Whatever the problem, I think it was exacerbated this season by the NCAA snooping around. Coaching staff started turning on each other.

It had nothing to do with the NCAA. There are only secondary violations there. It had A LOT to do with uneven disciplinary actions, a team-wide, season-long 11 p.m. curfew and hiring a private security firm to enforce it. He lost the respect of many on his team. Why play hard for a coach who doesn't trust you and keeps you under the equivalent of house arrest?

Some coaches disagreed with that action, too, and lost respect for Chizik. The constant meddling in gameplans didn't help, either. It's obvious Chizik doesn't trust the coaches he hired to do their jobs.

They needed someone familiar with their brand of cheating. They got their man.

When you recruit players of questionable character then your season can fall apart based on their actions. AU did well in the recruiting polls but many of those high level recruits bombed out either because of poor coaching or poor decisions or both.

Without the right players and coaches you lose consistency.

Actually if you look at expectations.

2009 Above average wins most expected 5-6 wins for Auburn in 2009 and yet AU went 5-0 but stumbled due to QB play and some injuries where lack of depth showed. Overall good play with a lot of penalties.

2010 perfect storm senior loaded team with Fairley and Newton that won an MNC, well above expectation.

2011 again Above expectations, most were expecting Auburn to not make a bowl game after losing 33 seniors/juniors from the MNC team. Auburn finished 8-5, some wins were just flat our miracles with our weaknesses on offense. Again more penalties due to lack of discipline but overall team played very hard and tough just never got it together on offense to compete against top teams.

2012 complete meltdown, first underperformance of Chizik's career and it was a big one that will cost him his job.

This about sums it up...I'd also include hiring the most incompetent OC in Auburn history.

I think he should get another year, unless there ARE NCAA violations. 8 wins, Natty, 8 wins, & 1 down year. He should be given a chance to restructure & get another year. AU might look silly firing him after 1 down year & 2 years removed from a Natty.

The fact that Auburn hired him to begin with is a mystery, considering Auburn was targeting someone the caliber of Bobby Petrino back in 2003.

Bobby was still a nobody in 2003.

.....no way that happens harmonics. He can't survive going win less in the conference. Auburn people love their football just as much as we do. He's gone brother.

I never understand why he keeps on posting. He must lead a very lonely life.

Nobody have ever taken one of his post seriously.
