CheckIn if you've won a recent NC title (last 30 years or so)

My question is for those fans of teams checking in who are not Bama fans ... what is it like? what is it like to win a NC on top of the world and then completely down for the next few seasons, only to be slightly competitive for a bit and then go right back down through the tubes?
How do you live for glory that usually only happens on average about once every 25-50 years or so? I'm genuinely curious

Trolling is an artform.. for a dick. Alas, we are always going to be stuck with dicks, pun unintended.

We all can appreciate a good trolling attempt because it's par for course for being a fan; however - we can all agree that the OP is terrible at it and should just stop.

You should know if you were a Bama fan between the Bear and Saban.

Winning a Championship is fun, but how can you feel "glory" over it when all you did was watch from your recliner as school kids half your age were the ones actually accomplishing something?... And that's what you "live for"?
For most people, "glory" is something reserved for personal accomplishments. You've won no personal honor just from being a fan of a sports team, nobody else but you cares who you root for
This probably seemed like such a sick burn bro when you typed it out and hit submit, but you've only managed to show us all what a pathetic loser you are

You should know. Bama sucked in that time frame. couple 4 win seasons.

While poorly crafted, it's actually a legitimate question that most Alabama fans can relate to I think. In the realm of sports I didn't grow up with a favorite pro team in anything. Followed a few here and there, but nobody I was passionate about consistently. Alabama was the only team I really invested in watching (albeit through some tough years) and as a result, it's the only sports team I have any real attachment to.
Saban has created such a sustained level of success that while I know the drop off is inevitable, it's genuinely difficult to remember what it feels like to not believe you will win the championship every single year. I remember the Louisiana Monroe game because it was my first game my dad and I went to with Saban as coach, but that's basically all I can recollect for that entire season and I assume it's because I was there in person. Even our dip in 2010 is a decade ago now and we've since beat the piss out of all 3 teams we lost to that year. Once you've experienced your favorite sports team winning for almost a third of your life, I can imagine it would become challenging to remember what it was like to not expect greatness every season for any fanbase.
Downvote if this triggers you.

Well, you're obviously not talking to lsu fans bc we are averaging making a national title game every 4 years or so and winning one every 5 years or so. We are doing fine. We are usually within a loss of making the sec title in the same time period when we don't make it as well. Lsus program is fine and will continue to be no matter the coach...being we've won a natty under the last 3 consecutive coaches we've had. Only one other program can say they have done the same and that's Miami back in their day. Geaux Tigers.

Bama has more troll ammunition than any other team, yet you come up with this

I don't know. I thought it was pretty good. It seems mostly geared towards Auburn and Tennessee (with a little Georgia in parenthesis).

Which is the problem with you gumps. I don't give a shite about what happened before my lifetime lol. In my lifetime LSU has done very well. If you want to brag and boast about national titles before Vietnam or hell even world war 2, that's you're decision...I don't. Very few people still alive today give a shite. LSU will be fine and will continue to win titles regardless of their history before I was born bc it's a different program and a different time. Skippy.
