AP or it didn't happen. There has to be a standard post-1936, otherwise, Alabama's claim to '41 is just as justifiable as that of Georgia's claim to '42.

ETA: Georgia lost by two touchdowns to an unranked Auburn squad that finished the season with a 6-4-1 record. Whereas Ohio State lost to a ranked Wisconsin squad that finished the season with an 8-1-1 record and an AP Top 3 ranking.
