Back in the 80's Ted Turner owned TBS who showed a SEC game every week. In those days if a tv station didn't pick it up and if you couldn't be there in person, you listened to your team on the radio. Anyway, a reporter asked TT," Why so many Alabama games?" TT replied, "Ratings. People from all across the country want to know how Alabama is doing."

I couldn't imagine watching a spring game of another team. Even watching your own team's spring game is boring AF. I think you'd have to be a special breed of sports junkie to take time to watch a spring game and actually enjoy it.
