Utah State is always pretty scrappy. They've been a solid program over the past decade.
However, they've really struggled against SEC teams. Outside of a close game against Auburn in 2011, they've been blown out by every SEC team they've played against. I'm not sure if it's the talent differential, the humidity, elevation changes, all of the above, none of the above, etc.
