Member Schools

Go read a book you fvckin rednecks

I kid. I kid. But for those of you who don't know:

Founded in 1900, the Association of American Universities is composed of America’s leading research universities. AAU’s 65 research universities transform lives through education, research, and innovation.

Our member universities earn the majority of competitively awarded federal funding for research that improves public health, seeks to address national challenges, and contributes significantly to our economic strength, while educating and training tomorrow’s visionary leaders and innovators.

*Edit* Oh yeah and TVs. We have TVs in KC and STL. Apparently that's important too.

AAU is not as big a deal as they make it out to be and there was a drive back mid to late 20 century where a bunch of schools got in and shouldn't have.

Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, and LSU should be all be AAU members.

Missouri, A&M, Vandy, and Flawda should sponsor each of them.

That's because the school in the state of Georgia geared towards AAU style research is Georgia Tech (along with Emory, which is private).

Georgia does not have a medical school or a long-standing engineering school, which makes it very unlikely they'd be invited (especially since AAU barely makes additions anymore).

You are likely the worst school with an AAU rating....

We out rank you in a majority of disciplines...

That distinction belongs to Iowa State, but that still a good school.

Like I said, Georgia belongs. Same with LSU, Auburn, and Alabama.

It looks like you and Kansas are the two weakest members. How long before you get thrown out?

Plus, any organization who over emphasizes medical schools and discounts agriculture schools is immediately suspect.

AAU memberships don't mean a thing.
You can get a degree from anywhere and have a very successful career.
AAU means your student loans will be higher and you have to navigate the liberal professors who take up residence on that campus. Good luck with that.

Meanwhile I get to enjoy a successful athletic program.

Where is that not the case?

Yeah, let a bunch of coddled 19 year olds bend over the university because they are good at a ball game

Auburn should be on the list.

While we're at it, Tennessee should be on the list.
