bullshite. It was a "family friend" he just happened to meet the summer before enrolling at Ohio State. I had many "family friends" when I was in college, and not one did I suddenly meet for the first time when I was 18 years old.
Still a loan that he repaid, regardless.

But where did he get the money to repay it? He’s a student athlete

A reasonable question that I'm sure the NCAA is asking and/or has already asked. I'm curious about this as well.

Hrm. That sounds fishy...but it's OSU so they won't get a serious investigation

He's out this weekend. He announced it himself on twitter.

Not in the way you are thinking it doesn’t, but just pay attention to how this ends up.

That’s my biggest issue in this situation. He received a loan from a family friend, and he was able to earn money during his time to pay it back. It’s fishy.

They get stipends that more than cover cost of living, and can take out student loans as well I believe. There's some vetting to do for sure, but there could easily be an innocent explanation for where the money came from to repay.
I guess it also matters how much the loan was for and how long he took to repay it.
