Old school NCAA tOSU forfeits games potentially

I doubt that happens here. That said could make interesting playoff mess

Way back when they would. But the last decade or so they don't make teams forfeit for this.

I can't see the NCAA doing anything to Ohio St. Now, if they were WhoCares State, with a 4-5 record, it might be a different story.

Depends on what this is.

They basically destroyed their premier West Coast program for Reggie Bush taking stuff from an agent.

They already came out and said pay for likeness is going to be approved. It’s going to be difficult to come down hard on this now. It’s going to be interesting to see what they do, but my bet it will be minimal.

They have been soft for awhile.

Will be interesting to see how the playoff committee handles this.

The likeness thing has zero bearing on this case.

The kid should be done for the year if he indeed "took a loan" from a "family friend."

I mean the kid got caught taking money and he can spin the story anyway he wants it but it still should cost him the remainder of his season.

Other people and schools have set the precedent for punishment.

Agreed, and in the SEC UGA suspended some kids for 4 games when they were caught. Bama suspended Haha for 2 games when he repaid a loan.

So...2-4 games sounds like the max here. And if Young came forward early on this like he is saying, sounds like it may only be 1 game.

Pendulum has swung so the P5 conferences have a lot of stroke. The talk of a super conference and splitting the sheets with the NCAA shook them up a few years back.

It's a freaking loan that he repaid. There shouldn't be any punishment at all.

Coming from a bama fan, and bama would obviously benefit if Young couldn't play in the playoff.

It should be 0 games. It's a loan that he repaid.

bullshite. It was a "family friend" he just happened to meet the summer before enrolling at Ohio State. I had many "family friends" when I was in college, and not one did I suddenly meet for the first time when I was 18 years old.

I mean i met 5 friends before I went to OSU my freshman year. OSU has events where you can meet new undergrads across the country and you go to orientation a few weeks before you start. I met a guy on the Lacrosse team at orientation in July before i started who I stayed friends with throughout school and after.

It happens more than people are acting like it does. You can meet new people every week
