They didn't have any ends, so they couldn't set the edges and force teams to run more up in the middle. In very rare cases that happened, they didn't have the depth and so they were already worn out before halftime. Since the offense was so anemic, a lot of them quit and saw it as pointless.

They couldn't get any push upfront. Quarterbacks could stand in the pocket for 10 seconds or more and not be flushed. Thus passing records were set. Good secondaries are dependent on pressure from up front. When that fails, they are picked off by offenses that already have a size and speed advantage.

Sosa Agim, Scoota Harris, T.J Smith are going to be drafted.

Dre Greenland played on that 2018 defense. He just led all Rookie linebackers in tackles in the NFL.

Lack of coaching and depth doomed any hopes of a good defense.

So it was Berts fault ?

Exactly. They knew what they were getting into changing from a team recruited for the pro set for decades to a spread offense...

Oh shite, you're a special kind of dumb. We didn't have an AD when Chaggie was hired. We had an acting AD that didn't know her arse from a hole in the ground.

Stick to Aubbie sports, because you know nothing about Arkansas sports.

I'll enjoy watching Chaggie get Gustavo fired.

Bert inherited some good players on defense in 13. Trey flowers, Dietrich wise, and Chris Smith would be drafted. Both flowers and wise ended up starting for the Patriots. The defense the next year finished in the top 10. Bert was a lazy recruiter and didn't bother to replace both offensive and defensive loses. He piggie backed on Petrino's recruits. That is why in 15, the roster still had Petrino recruits and once they were almost gone, the collapse began.

Bert does take a lot of blame has he had problems with the bottle. He was found at times passed out in his office. And when it came to home recruiting visits, skipped town to go to Vegas. This embarrassed and upset Sam Pittman that he locked the door to his house when some players and assistants tried to convince him to stay. When Pittman left, that was the beginning of the end for Bert.

Chad gets less of the blame when it came to defense. But he didn't help the situation when washed up Chavis was hired and the offense was so terrible, the defense would collapse after so many three and outs. So it was nothing more than a continuation of what Bert left.

Explain why the Defense sucked.
Because the offense was a flaccid dick and the defense spent 75% of the game on the field.

C.J O'Grady would start for most SEC teams and he also will be drafted.

They will have a 6-7 win season here sooner than later. They did have some close SEC games.

Exactly what Aubies were doing about Chad Morris until Gus hired him. It’s going to be a blast to watch the Chad meltdown.

UGA got a better OC in Monken for less than half that price.

When chad starts trimming your offensive linemen down to average 288 pounds across the front in order to be more mobile let us know.

This was his idea and our line got whipped.

College ball does not equal high school.

LSU adapted to the spread pretty well in 1 year I'd say. Think it has more to do with Morris being over his head and the fact that Arkys recruited kids just weren't that good or developed.

The talent is not compatible. Of course LSU's roster can adjust much quicker than Arkansas.

I believe Jeff Scott and Tony Elliott must have played a big part in Chad's success at Clemson. They took over as Clemson's Co-OCs when he left. And I believe that they were the ones who were the most instrumental in making Clemson's offense execute in the successful manner in which it did. And Morris was getting the credit.

Morris' offense at Arkansas could never execute effectively and consistently. It only got worse his second year. Never could find a 'spark'.

It's been an interesting ride for Chad so far. It will be interesting to see what happens. And we know it's coming.

You don’t have to have LSU talent to run an offense. Chad couldn’t put together a competent offense. He had no scheme and play calling was a disaster. All of our QB’s got worse under him.

Ty storey was the stater and ended beating Arkansas the year after. Some defensive lineman purposely let him run all over them in retaliation of Morris.
Their defensive players were apparently actively trying to get Chadwick fired, it sounds like.

Kinda hard to succeed when that happens.

It wasn't the fist time it happened. It first began from the North Texas game. Later in the fourth quarter, Arkansas had the ball. It was a passing play and I don't remember if they were blitzing but one of the lineman in pass protection just stood in one spot. The defender went around and sacked little John Stephen Jones like a bag of Wal-Mart groceries.

That was the worst level of effort I have seen from any football team. Cole Kelly threw four or five interceptions and a large crowd of boos were raining down on Chad. Players were still angry that Bert was fired. That was the first season and it was awful the last five game stretch.

While Chad did good job of getting rid of most of the Bert players for no good reason and bragging a bout installing 20% of the offense. The younger players and especially the freshman couldn't even line up correctly. Offside and illegal procedures would occur in every game. You would think that a so called guru would practice simple formations during the week but I guess Chad needed a consultant for that.

if Chad would have gotten the team to buy in then he might still be here. But instead one of the first things that he said to the team was,"if you were any good I wouldn't be the coach here." That was a shitty thing to say. But Chad didn't care and that attitude poisoned the veteran players and frustrated the younger freshmen.
