As much as I like CM, I have to mention that the last time He and Auburn Defensive Coordinator Kevin Steele coached a game together it was a 70-33 blow by WVU over Clemson...Ironically, that loss allowed Dabo to fire Steele and bring in Venables...

Wow.
I hope Steele has learned how to be a DC with a spread offense. If not, we could be in trouble.

Nope. All the bad luck in the world. Chard didn't even fully commit to the job. Worst P5 HC hire of the past decade for any school, possibly of all time. Not even a stretch to say that. The past 2 years were the 2 worst seasons in Arkansas football history. Has any other coach ever had the worst season in a program's history and followed it up with an equally historically dead last bad season? It would be glorious for this to all back fire on him and Gus. Glorious.

From what I remember about Steele, there was a perception that he was a good schemer with experienced and talented players but wasn't the best developer of the younger players....Venables turns Freshmen into starters or players that get a ton of playing time in meaningful downs..
As I said..that was a perception...but I think there was a transitional period where DC's that were used to pro-style offenses struggled mightily against HUNH...Bud Foster, one of the greats never really figured it out

Last claimed title was in the 60s. Last conference title in the 80s. Sir, that is not a skid. We now have enough data points to say Arkansas is not good at the football's.

CWT had the talent and a down ACC to easily be an 9+ win team. He never even recruited a QB. The team was undisciplined and played like shite. Arky at least had a bad program with weak talent in the SEC West...CWT fricked up a wet dream

So it's either you win titles or you suck? Lol we're definitely not a fricking 2-10 program either. We've won the west 3 times and the last decent coach we had took us to the Sugar Bowl and finished #5 in the country the following year.
But yes, it's Arkansas' fault that Morris had the 26th most talented team in the country and got blown out by WKU.
