Bama beats LSU & wins the West, but loses to UGA in SEC Championship

LSU wins out, convincingly, after loss to Bama.

UGA - 1 loss SEC Champion (definitely in)
Bama - 1 loss division champion, head to head win vs LSU
LSU - 1 loss at Top 5 Bama, impressive schedule

Chaos.

Undefeated OSU
Undefeated Clemson
1 loss champ Oregon
1 loss champ Georgia

OU, LSU, Bama all left out.

Oregon’s 1 loss being to a middle of the pack SEC team, and their lackluster wins vs most of the rest of their schedule won’t bode well for them, IMO. I’d be more concerned about a 1 loss Oklahoma getting in.

The more interesting scenario would be if Florida beat Bama in the CG. You would have a round robin of LSU over Florida, Florida over Bama, and Bama over LSU. LSU have a more impressive resume than Bama and maybe the best margin of victory (14 points over UF) of the round robin. But LSU would be only team to not win its division.

This would be the shittiest playoff in the history of the playoffs.

I don’t see UGA making it in this year. Loss to USCe and ND getting smoked hurt them badly. Not to mention, they just don’t look to be playing very good football.

I don’t believe UGA or UF are capable of beating Bama or LSU in Atlanta.

Not that it will happen, but if we win out those things won’t matter a bit.

I agree. If UF's D is healthy I like their chances of beating UGA.

I think the first poll will play a big part. If Bama is 3 and loses, then they get left out for a Oregon or OU.

That’s not chaos. That’s the worst possible LSU scenario. If LSU loses, the need Bama to win out or lose (inexplicably) to BOTH MSU and Auburn or to win out including the SECCG.

A bigger chaos is if UF beats UGA but loses to Missouri, then beats Bama in Atlanta...then you would have.

UF 11-2 SEC Champion 1-1 vs the contenders
Bama 12-1 West winner 1-1 vs the contenders
LSU 11-1 best resume 1-1 vs the contenders

Who do you leave out?

I think LSU should be left out of the playoffs in your scenario. If teams like Ohio State and Clemson are undefeated and another team like Oregon or Oklahoma catches fire, then possibility Alabama is left out also.
