CFB: I see a lot of hubris, but objectively LSU is in for a looooong season

Sure, most fans just like to talk shite, and this is an LSU board, first and foremost.
But we are starting next season with a completely new and inexperienced backfield, 2 new starters at WR, 2 new starters on the OL.
On defense we are replacing 2 corners, 2 OLB, and one MLB.
Aranda can make it passable on defense, but expecting a top 25 defense is ludicrous.
I am expecting an 7-5 season, with an outside chance for 9-3, if we catch some breaks.
That said, youth next season will make 2019 something to look forward to.
I am not being a Debbie Downer, just realistic.
Tell me where I am wrong?

Agreed. It's gonna be a long season for sure, but I'll be pulling for them each Saturday.

Posting it on the SEC Rant. By the time this scrolls off you're red meat of a post will have elicited many 3-9, 2-10 posts.

Whoever scheduled that four game stretch of UF, UGA, MS & Bama didn't do you guys any favors.

Like on the Poliboard, I am accustomed to being the calm, sane voice in a sea of crazies.

We'll have an elite defense if our offense can maintain some TOP.
Our DL will be the best in years and Devin White is the best MLB in the country. We aren't going to miss Donnie Alexander and the we have talent that Aranda hand picked for the OLB spots. I really think our front 7 will be dominant.
Our secondary will be very solid with a lot of experience and talent at safety and Greedy at one CB position and tons of talent fighting for the other spot. Kary Vincent, Fulton, etc. (hopefully Surtain)
ETA:
It will still probably be a long season because of the offense though.

LSU's defense will be very good. It is not ludicrous to expect that

Does anyone seeing Orgeron outcoaching the rest of the SEC through the course of an entire season? Sure. LSU’s talent may overcome his incompetence in a game or two... but come on. We all know what’s going to happen.

You calling your shot that LSU can't continue the 8 wins a year for an entire century next season?

UF and MS are going to be gimme games this year. Mullen won't do it in one year
And I couldn't even tell you the name of State's new coach, if you had a gun to my head.

Elite is a word that gets thrown around too much.

VOLS are likely in for yet another brutal season as well.
Switching from HSO or whatever the frick Lyles offense was, to Pro style.
Switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4.
Brand new S&C staff after two years of absolute chaos in that department.

We'll probably still beat Auburn
But
Miami
Georgia
Bama
State
Aggy and Arkansas have good coaches now. Ole Miss has a good QB and will be tough
Yikes

If the reported Glenn Dorsey-ish feats of DT's Shelvin and Fehoko are true, teaming them up with Lawrence and Alexander could make LSU's front downright dominating.
Which helps the edge rushers pressure or sack...
which helps the LBers in coverage since blitzing would be bonus, not a necessity...
which would make an already talented DB group feast.
A dominating, suffocating defense could make even a retard coach look good.

MSU's new coach was Penn State's OC. He is very well thought of. If Mullen gets good QB, play plus the game is in the swamp, I could easily see them winning.

It can only be so good when it's on the field for 40 minutes a game.

I am thinking that you began being wrong approximately kindergarten and haven’t stopped since.

I hope that 0 and LSU are successful enough so that they both enjoy a multiyear partnership, thus proving that Joe’s vision was ahead of its time.
That’s all I’ve got.
