They know they are screwed if the ACC/B12/SEC play and have similar or better infection rates than B1G/PAC players.

The pitchforks will come out for those ADs commissioners.
1000 times over, this right here.

And if theyre so scared about that possibility...then maybe just maybe they arent "unquestionably certain" about the science theyre using to justify the cancellations.

Less than 1% of the population has even caught covid. Stop the fricking insanity already.

There is no legitimate way to play spring ball.

1. If you care about student athletes health, asking them to play two seasons in one year is opposite of that.

2. Weather, they really aren't much more prepared to play a game in a midwest winter than we are. As it is, with some exception, its hot in August and September in the north and south, and fall is fall. Winter doesn't usually start until November in the Midwest.

3. There will be nothing to play for in the spring. 2020 season will have been played and 2021 will start as usual.

Which unfortunately is why it won’t last. Every decision that prolongs playing by the SEC/ACC/Big 12 is going to be attacked by the media on all fronts. They can’t sustain that.
They can if they remember that it’s political and they have the political backing in their state. Stop being the silent majority and tell the lunatics to take a hike.

Plus, the likelihood is that nothing about risks they seem to be worried about with COVID are likely to have disappeared by the time spring rolls around. If we have an effective vaccine, it will not likely be available to the public at large, including athletes, until after spring football. Maybe the spread will have slowed down by spring, but there is no guarantee of that at all.

Mark Emmert came out and said there will be no championships this fall. Sounds like he is their mouthpiece.

There's a reason why the B1G & Pac10 have never won a playoff game.
Ohio St. and Oregon both won one the first year and played against each other for the 2014 national title. Five seasons have gone by without either conference (as well as the Big 12) winning a playoff game. In the last five years only Clemson, Alabama, LSU, and Georgia have won College Football Playoff games.
