He averaged 8.5 ypc as a freshman. After that he suffered a knee injury. I didn’t say he should be on any of these teams, I just said he was top 4 I ever saw. For that moment in time he was Superman.

I agree. It’s hard to argue against either Frazier or Tebow, but Staubach is regarded by some as the greatest college football player ever.

Tommy Frazier played at Nebraska from 1992-1995. He accounted for 5,516 total yards (passing and rushing) and 79 TDs in 4 seasons. Compare that to Ty Detmer...who accounted for 14,665 total yards and 79 TDs. They had the same number of touchdowns, but Detmer accounted for nearly 3 times as many yards in offensive production. How did officiating make being a QB easier for Detmer who played 4 years earlier?
For what it's worth...I did see the guy play...you can say that Detmer's passing numbers are inflated because of the system he was in...but that would be the same narrative for Frazier's rushing numbers. He was a helluva runner and an adequate passer. With that Nebraska squad...that was all you needed.

There's more to playing QB than just throwing the ball; Frazier was a master of Nebraska's option offense as well as a great leader. The dude was a missed FG away in the '93 championship game from leading Nebraska to three straight national titles; I don't know of another QB that played in three national championship games. He came off the bench (he had blood clot issues most of that season) to lead 'em to the '94 title; no way Nebraska wins against Miami without him. He absolutely dismantled a really good UF team that dominated the SEC in '95, hence leading to the joke:

Frazier was unstoppable. Unquestioned leader of a Back 2 Back national champion and carried teams in the way very few players can. I wouldn't like him at QB in a modern offense, be he's a legit choice.
I still think Vick was better, though.
Also, before I pick Tua, I'd pick Kyler Murray. He had the greatest Offensive season in memory.

Orange Bowl. But whatever.
This was before free substitution when teams could only substitute two players on any play unless there had been a change of possession. I wonder if watching John Hannah and Jim Krapf try to cover punts to Rodgers hastened the implementation of free substitution.

In the first & second teams combined, I see two (2) players from before 1960.
They should do a separate team for the era of single platoon football. Completely different sport.

Agree. No way Frazier is the all time #1 QB. But the list in general is very good.
Tua is great but no way that should even be considered having only played 1 real season.

I agree with his awesomeness in the NFL...but for college disruption...I don't know that any of these (including Reggie White) were as much of a force as Doug Atkins.
Atkins was the only unanimous selection to the SEC All Quarter-Century team and was selected as the overall SEC "Player of the Quarter-Century" for the years 1950 to 1975.
