I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s where we would stop at the local card shop after leaving the Piggly Wiggly. It was some of my most favorite child hood memories with my father. I recently started doing it again with my kids as it seems to be more popular. They love chasing Jayden Daniels Downtowns and Kabooms. Anyone else doing the same? Amazing seeing their eyes light up when they open a pack of cards and go through them.

Do they still put a piece of dried up spackle in the package and call it gum?

I'm glad to hear it's still a thing. We used to trade them in little league. Enjoy it while it lasts.

No, now they charge $10 a pack for 5 commons with a very slim chance of getting something worthwhile.

Collecting since I was a kid. And fortunately, my parents never tossed mine.

Nice! I have packs that I haven’t opened in 30 years.

I have the Donrus, Fleer, Topps, and the company that started with an S from 1984-1988. Still have the cards in a footlocker with the favorite cards in a binder.

Nice, the '87 Donruss set is a fantastic set with several key RCs. One of my favorites.

Have mine in a safety deposit box. Most are from the 70's and 80's.

Besides the cost not much different than us who grew up in the junk wax era with a pack full of bland cards.

Never was a fan of the chase... It's much more feasible just to purchase the card I'm after.

Jayden daniels kabooms are like 2000-5000 grand right now. Cards are extremely popular right now and big money. If you're interested go to geoff wilson youtube or download whatnot.

The dollar tree had packs of 5 for $1.25 so I bought a bunch for stocking stuffers for my boys for Christmas. I think they had more fun with opening those than their real presents.

My card collecting days corresponded with all of the Dream Team players.
We didn’t collect sets, we all collected a specific player. Good cards that weren’t your player were just good for trading.
Randomly, I collected Barkley cards. Still have a dare folder with sleeves with about 400 different cards in it.
Had one buddy collect Jordan cards, except he kept them all, even duplicates. He had over 1,000. When we all moved away for college, his dad confiscated them and put them in a safe with all of his very old baseball cards.

Except for Elite cards the bottom fell out card industry. NASCAR is even worse.
