The precedent is not there for what you're describing:
Largest jump from schools outside the top ten as a result of a CWS appearance who DIDN'T make the final of their side of the bracket:
2012 - Stony Brook (UR to 8), Kent State (UR to 7)
2011 - Cal (UR to 8)
2010 - Oklahoma (13 to 5), Florida State (12 to 6)
Only Cal, Stony Brook, and Kent State weren't regional hosts or #1 seeds.
Mississippi State is the ONLY lock for #8 if they don't make it to the bracket final since they didn't host.
Louisville and Indiana have the two worst records of the CWS participants.
As far as the coaches poll, if your bracket finals are NC State or UCLA vs. LSU on one side and Mississippi State vs. Oregon State on the other side, the schools you have for 5-8 are
North Carolina (currently #3)
UCLA (currently #10)
Louisville (currently #12)
Indiana (currently #13)
Do you really think any of those voters would have a shred of credibility if they put either Louisville or Indiana above UNC and UCLA in that scenario?
