Can't remember a QB who consistently made perfect reads and perfect throws like Burrow

It's one thing to get in a groove and do it for a game or a few weeks, but he has literally been doing it the entire season. Absolutely unreal what that guy is doing. I honestly thought Georgia played pretty well defensively yesterday. They held CEH in check, covered well and for the most part collapsed the pocket. It literally did not matter at all.

If anybody votes for another player for the Heisman they should have their privileges revoked.

I’m going to miss this kid after this year. So far, this has been the most special ride I can remember as an LSU fan.

burrow is so dangerous compared to most other QB I've seen in my years of going to games because of his improv skills. Yes he is very accurate, but so was baker mayfield and a litany of other elite QBs we've seen over the years. What sets burrow apart is that there were numerous times we had PERFECT defense, I mean every receiver blanketed, collapsed the pocket, and he just took off like it was 2nd nature. It's difffernet when you have a "running QB" and are expecdting it, but with him it was just like it was somethign wired in his brain to where he knew the exact moment to say "alright i'm outta here" that most QBs don't have. Fromm has the opposite wiring in his brain.

Agreed. He is one of the most poised, accurate passer I've ever seen. He has an unreal feel for the game. Makes it look easy too. Quite impressive.

Yep - somebody said on twitter yesterday "People talk about QBs having eyes in the back of their head - Burrow has about 40".

His reads, whether reading the pocket, reading routes, reading when to drag out a pass play and when to take off and run.........honestly I feel like I can count the number of pure mistakes he has made on one hand. That's absurd.

I'm super anxious to see how LSU's offense looks next season. Obviously Joe Brady is dadgum genuis and deserves a metric frickton of credit for getting LSU's offense into the 21st century. But burrow is so ridiculously special and has accounted for who knows how many big plays just from improvising on his own when a play breaks down. I'll be curious to see how a diffent QB looks in the same system.

Yea - I'm sure it will still be very good, but this feels like Cam and a great O-line in Gus' system. It's just a gift from the gods (much like Brees in the same system in New Orleans).

I agree but to me it is his ability to extend plays and then make huge gains when his OL has basically collapsed.

GA did play pretty well, but there were several times when it reminded me of the AU game. In both games, I would be thinking, "oh we(or GA) got him now" and then he would not only escape he would gauge us on a run or throw an amazing pass for 15 plus yards.

Honestly, I don't know how you stop a guy like that when they are on their game.

Finally, the guy is tough as nails.

There’s no way we don’t take a step back. Hard to tell how much, but there’s no way we have these kind of stars aligned next year.

Yup - I think Saban summed it up pretty perfectly after our game "They have no weaknesses". And a lot of that is due to Burrow, because he negates the few small weaknesses they do have.

Hopefully for your sake, it's not Auburn post-Newton or A&M post-Manziel.

Joe ( and O ) are reminders that we may not know what we think we know about a man. In the end, we write our own stories.

I hope not. All we can do is enjoy this year and hope it ends the way a season like this should.

Right. Somehow, some way, Arkansas actually had a pretty good defensive game plan ready for him when we played. Probably on accident.

Then he pulled few plays out of his behind and our defense collapsed... at which point in time he picked us apart until Coach O pulled him from the game to keep him from running up the score.

From a pure QB standpoint it is one of the most impressive seasons I've seen in a while.

I am not going to deny this has been an amazing season, but after the depths of the nineties, the 2003 championship was earth shattering.

The difference between LSU this year and last year is impressive and a credit to Coach O. The difference between Burrow from last year to this year is truly incredible and pretty much inexplicable. The year he’s has this year is very impressive (obviously) and he’s a shoo-in for the Heisman. But the year that he’s had this year compared to where he was last year is unprecedented.

...agree... that he is... he is so durable.... dude has taken some shots the last 2 years but gets up, dust himself off and goes into the next level of playing QB

He’s pass first Cam.

Can speak from experience, LSU will miss him bad next year. It’s one thing to have a good QB, it’s another to have this otherworldly guy who always makes the exact play you need when you need it.
