Can we pin this to the top? 11-1 Alabama with a loss to Auburn will be left out

Most of us in the Alabama camp think this, unless extreme chaos occurs and everybody else has 2 losses or something and the loss is some sort of crazy Kick 6 like game. Our resume will be blah and we won't have a conference title.
No more threads needed on it. We need to win out, which is how it probably should be.

They will get in on name alone

Depends who wins the SEC.
I think if Auburn does, they'll put Bama in.
Like they did with OSU last year.

Agreed.
But we both know that if Bama loses, there will be the narrative that "All Bama fans said they would go to the playoffs anyway!" and no amount of facts or reason or documented posts will change their minds.

I think what happened to OSU would be exactly why Auburn gets in at 11-2

I'm baffled as to why
1) you think this merited a separate post, and
2) you think it should be pinned at the top

I think if Auburn wins they'll put both?
SEC Champ Auburn and 11-1 Bama

Seems unlikely, considering OSU got DESTROYED in the playoffs. I suppose it could still happen, but Alabama would be finishing the year with a loss - OSU finished the year strong.
It's not IMPOSSIBLE, it would just take a very favorable series of events that are incredibly unlikely.
I'm just glad we don't have to deal with 1966-like situations anymore.

I don't actually think it should be pinned to the top

SEC Champion will be in
The Clemson/Miami winner is in
OU will most likely be in
An undefeated Wisconsin will be in no matter what anyone says now.
A one loss Miami, if they lose to Clemson, may very well be considered over a one loss Bama.
It will be difficult for Alabama to get in if it loses to Auburn. Several things will have to occur.

Sadly, yes. A conference champion OSU with two humiliating defeats would likely be taken over a one loss Bama.
I don't agree with it, but if Alabama finishes 11-1, it will be Miami/Clemson, Auburn/UGA, Wisconsin/OSU, Oklahoma, barring something bizarre in the next two weeks.

Allrighty then.

Y'all will wait about 5 years, and then claim the NC anyway.

12-1 Alabama goes, though, IMO.

I can't see this. Not unless Auburn beat Bama like they did Georgia. OSU lost by 31 to Iowa. Not to mention they got the benefit of the doubt last year, and rewarded the committee by getting pounded by Clemson 31-0.
