IF Lawrence had the game he had last night LAST YEAR, Bama MAYBE would have won the Natty.

It’s only a maybe because Bama still had Savion Smith.

I mean Clemson’s NFL defensive line still says hello. But the game ain’t 44-16.

I think its very safe to say that both QB’s didn't look very good in the 1st qtr. For a while I was worried that Burrow wasn't going to be able to stay ahead of Colt McCoy’s record for completion percentage.

I don’t know the kid, so I could be wrong, but he does not look bright in any pic I’ve ever seen. Has the glazed, pot smoker/unintelligent look in his eyes. Elite physical tools but looks very dull mentally. Hope I’m wrong because it’s a shitty impression to have of someone I don’t know personally and I wouldn’t mind being wrong.

Is a really good quarterback. But that he basically beat Alabama last year because Clemson receivers made a bunch of great plays on low percentage throws that broke the game open? I just don’t see him as a dominant, take the game over guy in the same vein as a Burrow or Cam or Tebow.

What he is: great arm, surprisingly good running the ball, and not going to put his team in bad positions.

I thought he played well last night. LSU just made some good adjustments.

Huh? Prior to last night, when is the last time that guy lost a football game? You think that's all luck?

I'm no scout, but I didn't see anything from Breck girl to make me think he's some kind of franchise quarterback. He made some wide open throws and basically shite the bed in the second half. He sure as hell wasn't putting his team on his back and carrying them to victory.

I think he fell apart tonight once he realized their defense couldn't stop LSU.

The only teams that responded well to that realization all year were Bama and Texas.

Lawrence was swimming after LSU started scoring.

And hopefully people will now start to realize that 44-16 was a fluke.

I dunno man. I keep thinking of the overthrows. A big one came when they were only down 3 midway through the 3rd and ran a drag to the WR on 3rd and medium - he, again, threw too high and off the fingertips of the receiver and it was almost intercepted. They had to make that play - every drive counted.

It was that way early in the game too - they had ample opportunities to make some drives (with 3rd and mediums), and put up more points (and change how the game unfolds on defense) but his poor passes stopped them.

The kid is a prodigy you moron. he was a true freshmen last year making defending champ Bama defense look like clowns. Clemson suffocated Alabama's offense also if you don't remember. He dont play D.

you wanna say it was 7-8 big lucky plays that was the difference in the game then you gotta say it for 2017 title too. that shite cuts both ways.

I don't know the kid...but I do know the family. I went to college with his parents.

His father was always expressionless and very blank on the outside. Once you got to know him, he was extremely smart, very hard working and an exceptional human being. One of the kindest people I have ever known. Still waters often run deep.

Bruh. Read it again. I’m not saying Lawrence isn’t a really good football player. He’s careful with the ball, has got a rocket arm, and is great running the ball.

I’m simply saying that last night he wasn’t a generational QB, that he may not be one, and that there were 6 or 7 plays against Bama that were probably low percentage plays that the receivers won and it blew the game open and started a false narrative. Kid is still a player though and I’d love to have him. I just think the brakes need to be pumped on him.

LSU’s D has been getting torn apart on here and by the media. But it was the same core offense that shredded Bama’s D. Except they were all a year older and more experienced. Lawrence, Etienne, Ross and Higgins, they all should have been better but we held them to 25.

This. I mean he did put the team on his back against OSU. LSU just put the pressure on him. You think you'd be crediting LSU's D and Aranda's plan but now the narrative is , "He just isn't that great of a QB."

No, LSU had a great game against him. Pressure forced him to make bad throws and WR couldn't go up and get them because LSU's db's had a pretty good game.

Freshman, wins a title. Sophomore, he only loses to arguably the greatest football team ever in title game. But yeah, he's only average.

It appears Lawrence is struggling with handling the spotlight more than anything.

He started the year with tons of bad throws, decisions and interceptions. All of this against weak teams.

Clemson adjusted and simplified their passing game to take as much pressure off him as possible. Dabo couldn't hide his weaknesses anymore last night.

He needs help between the ears. I hope he figures it all out as he could be great.

He is not there yet.
