From what I gather, boosters hate him so they start a smear campaign to get him to resign, he refuses, AD can’t find reason to fire with cause so they keep him to avoid having to pay a buyout?

Do I have it correctly? Thank you

Yes. Apparently these idiots don’t want to pony up the money now but will wait until his buyout is reduced in a year.

Nobody knows.

Different people speculate different theories.

No theory is 100% accurate, but no way of knowing how much if any truth any theory contains.

Auburn is a basketball school now, and I can live with that to close the decade.

What happens after Pearl leaves? Do you think people/fans/potential students will be drawn to basketball long-term? Football is primary economic driver of any university especially in the SEC.

Yes if his replacement can keep the train rolling. I expect that Bruce would be given some input on his replacement.

It works for UK.

It can work for AU.

SEC splits money evenly so Bama and Kentucky get about the same amount of money for football.

There are metrics to suggest this is changing. Obviously it will happen last in the South, but the strong hold isn't what it was even 10 years ago.

Hired a smoke show under smoke and mirrors that it wasn’t his side piece. Coaches and players defected because he runs the program like a shite show. We’re in the south so God forbid a coach will ever cheat on his wife so let’s make this the reason they slander him to resign. After he doesn’t go anywhere and the checking account was insufficient to buy him out, It is decided he stays. Is that good enough?

Appreantly Mason and a few transferring players said he was racist. That triggered a massive internal investigation. The other nonsense was low even for message board idiots.

I think Harsin came down here with an attitude, I think he was strongly encouraged to perhaps take some coaches with ties to SEC recruiting over what he may have been inclined to do, I think he thinks he can win games with carefully vetted players that fit his way of thinking over pure talent, I think he has a stubborn view of NIL that is going to put Auburn at a deficit and I think a lot of his coaching staff didn't see eye to eye with him and left.

The guy has will be hiring his fourth coordinator in a year soon. He has been standoffish with the fanbase, is leading from behind on recruiting and is unpopular with at least a faction of the boosters. I think our current President finally had a gutful, made an investigation, found nothing and put his foot down on changing coaches. Now we're going to suck until the boosters want to shell out for another big buyout. The end.

They F’ed up hiring him and F’ed up not firing him. The allegations are not going away. The opposing coaches talking to these recruits will use this as leverage against Auburn. Something isn’t right there. They lost 18 or so players and 5 coaches. They need to send him packing, start over and reset.

I heard the radio guy from Boise on Finebaum yesterday afternoon. That dude was known as a person with poor people skills. He seemed to be glad Harsin had had his comeuppance.

The Auburn AD did not do his due diligence before he made this hire and they are stuck with him for a while now because of his contract. Perhaps they can talk Gus into taking a reduced amount on his buy out.
