Seems pretty similar to when UGA got rid of Cheney ("let" him go to Tennessee).

2017 - #12 YPP / #5 FEI Off(with a true freshman QB)
2018 - #7 YPP / #3 FEI Off

Numbers were good, everyone who watched them consistently knew there was more to it.

Chaney got rid of UGA.

He asked for more than he was worth and walked out the door to take it from Knoxville.
He has spent the last 2 years as an analyst for it.

Cheney was not bad. Held back by Kirby somewhat. But not worth spending what Tennessee was gonna pay. We weren't looking to get rid of him.

His replacement sucked.

I wasn’t impressed with him here, heck Bert fired him. We’d be driving the ball and dominating then he pulls some bullcrap passing attack out of his butt and then punt.

The bad thing was that Pittman followed him to Georgia soon after.

I know this is a foreign concept for trolls, but how about let's let him actually work and find out.

Hmmmm....they ended up with those stats with a Heisman trophy winner under center. So uh, I wouldn't be all giddy about it if I was a Tide fan. Not right away anyway. And by the time he gets them back on track, UGA will have won it's 3rd National Title in as many years.

We hired Pittman first after Bert stopped us from taking your current OC at the time.

Pittman is probably a big reason why Cheney ended up coming.

Notre Damn Total offenses
2022- #60 in country 340 yards per game
Points Per Game - 31.7 #42 in country.

Bama fans ran off a coach that had top 10 offense in both ppg and total offense for a guy that could only score 14 points to a lose against Stanford. Stanford was 3-9 last year lol.

Dave Bartoo, the Football Matrix guy that AD's and coaches hire to consult on candidates said on Chuck Oliver that while Alabama put up some decent numbers, the only metric that really matters to him is offensive (and defensive) efficiency and that Bama's number in both categories was the lowest it had been since Saban's first year (sorry but I don't know the formula he uses). When you add that to the number of TD's and other big plays we had solely due to Bryce running for his life until a receiver finally got open, it was time to change. We will likely have a very different type team next year but I'm totally ok with that.

I just think it's funny how so many Bammers constantly talked shite about Brian Kelly last offseason and then he beat them.

And now Saban is hiring his protege run the Tide's offense.

Arkansas hired Chaney to be its offensive coordinator ahead of the 2013 season, and he brought along Pittman to coach the offensive line. When Kirby Smart hired Chaney ahead of the 2016 season to be Georgia’s offensive coordinator, Chaney again tapped Pittman as his offensive line coach.

“Jim is smart enough that, when you’re a coordinator, you try to find that offensive line coach that you can mesh with and click with,” said Charlie Coiner, who was UT's special teams and tight ends coach in 2012 and worked alongside Chaney and Pittman, “and when you change jobs, you kind of want them to go with you. Well, they did that. That (speaks well) for Sam right there, the fact that Jim was all about making sure that Sam came with him wherever he went.”…..guote……

Those two seemed to be close friends, it killed Bert here when Sam followed him to Georgia….

You're right. Seems we did hire Jim first and then got Pittman. Crazy how the memory plays tricks.

I remember the base being the way Bama is about Rees now with JC, but loving Pittman from the get go.

We did try Enos first and BB used the no compete clause in his contract to stop the hire.

We were equally disappointed when Sam left to go back to Arkansas, but couldn't blame him.

So, should we have no football discussion about the 2023 season. I mean, you can say that about anything really.

Who's gonna be your QB? How about let's let them actually practice an find out.

Will your defense be improved? How about let's play the games and find out.

Who are the favorites to win this year? How about let's play the games and find out.

It's a discussion board, man.
