I think we can win, but I may be underestimating the VCU fans/players ruined by Wade factor here...they have some vitriolic opinions towards Wade 
They did only beat UNT at home by 3, so we will see, we need to take care of the ball and break their press. They were ranked #25 last week, now #26 in the polls. Would be a quality road win.

I know this isn't the point of this thread, but VCU is a legitimately good basketball program.

2.5 is a virtual tossup in basketball. VCU is a tough team to beat at home so LSU will be tested early this season which will be a good thing once SEC play starts.
I would guess that LSU wins a close one but on paper this is shaping up to be one of those "whoever has the ball last has a good shot of winning" type games.

It's two talented teams, Top 25 teams as of last week, with exceptional student athletes, competing at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics tonight, while representing two institutions of higher learning. I'll only be upset if the student athletes have not completed their classroom assignments for the day by tip off.

Im actually really excited about this game. They have a sellout at VCU tonight. Their fans are really riled up about Wade coming back so it will definitely be hostile. #WillWadeHateWeek is filled with ridiculous VCU hate on twitter.
Team wise, they have not played up to their potential in their first two games but they are dangerous with a good defense. LSU is gonna have to make some three point shots to try and spread out VCU's defense and no wayLSU can afford the amount of turnovers they had in their first game.
I'm hopeful LSU goes in there and takes care of business but I do expect VCU's best effort. Alot of their players were recruited and/or coached by Wade so there's a lot of familiarity between the parties and I think that does play into LSU's hand. Wade has been exceptionally good at gameplanning given the time to scout.

I have VCU winning by 7 points. Last years tiger team easily wins this, but this years team will have trouble with the press.
