Can Florida repeat in baseball?

I know we have a great crew coming back, but we lost Faedo, who saved us many many times in the tournament...
Plus, the target will be on our back all season now, especially being preseason #1.
I like our chances to get back to the CWS, obviously, but to repeat takes something special... see South Carolina in 2010, 2011.
Thoughts if Florida will repeat?

Can or will? Make up your mind
Can you? yes
Will you? Odds say no

One of the toughest things to do in baseball. Don't see it happening

How's your pitching?
Good pitching will overcome bad hitting.
Like, last year.

Very insightful, Thomas.
Now get back to your coloring book.

Is it typical for a team to have 21 potential pitchers? There like 5 that play other positions as well, but damn.
Singer and Byrne return. Not sure who our main closer will be though.
Still looks strong. And have to the think the batting will be better at some point... right?

Singer (1st), Kowar (2nd), and Byrne (1st) are all Preseason All Americans
Our Sunday starter, Tyler Dyson, started the last game of CWS.
UF lost a lot of leadership with Faedo and Rivera. Someone will need to step up in that role. Sully has recruited the talent but can they come together as a team.

I forget about Kowar for some reason. Solid guy, and Dyson as well...
Okay maybe we will be fine.
I'm sure LSU fans will be glad Rivera is gone so he doesn't have to "truck" one of their players.

Very hard to do. Vandy had a better team in 2015 than the team that won it all the year before and fell one game short of repeating.

I'm still absolutely shocked we were in a position to 3-peat
Would have been awesome

Maybe we'll 3-peat and shut you haters up.
Hasn't been done in the modern era, right? I don't like to count anything before the current format. Kind of like how Bama claims all of those national championships in football and UCLA in basketball... was much easier back in the day when there weren't that many teams.

Not necessarily. I am just sick of South Carolina, much like I was sick of Vanderbilt and sick of LSU.
It'll pass... once we finally have a big guy down low to stop Silva.
Ugh.
I mean, we would have beaten you had you shot a normal 3-point percentage, but I half-blame that on our defense not getting out to the perimeter fast enough and getting lazy.
Oh well. Hopefully Egbunu comes back before we face you again.

Repeating is hard ... we almost 3Peated but fell short.
What made our repeat extra special was our first one was in the old Blatt and our repeat was in the new TD Ameritrade. So we won the last one in the old Blatt and the first one in the new TD Ameritrade. That'll never be done again.
Additionally we won the last one in the Blatt playing gorilla ball and slugfesting with the old aluminum bats.
We won the repeat playing small ball with the new BBCOR bats ... and I do mean we went small ball in that series and that new cavern of a park.
Can Florida repeat? Yep ... but it ain't easy and you gotta get hot at the right time. We lost some very key players between Championships, especially on the mound and infield, so it can be done.
We actually went on the longest post season undefeated run between the first post season and Championship all the way to the third Championship series ... it's a post season streak that likely will stand for a long long time.
You've already got the first one outta the way ... it might make getting the next one a little bit easier. Look at what LSU did after getting their first.
Good luck (unless we meet y'all again in Omaha).

I think getting the monkey off our back of winning the first one will go a long way. Won't have that doubt anymore of not being able to get over the hump.
Now, how aggressive or passive that makes O'Sullivan with his rotations, I guess we will see. He surely likes to mix it up at times when you would think he shouldn't, but it worked last year.

Very insightful there.
Why don't you think we will?
Maybe we will have another one with LSU and beat you guys again. That would make me happy.

I don't see why not. Last year's Championship team was probably UF's worst team in 5-6 years.
