Can a team that gives up 46 points AT HOME and LOSES be considered a Playoff team?

That’s pretty bad. And in regulation, too!

Combine that with not beating a single team currently ranked in the Top 25 and the resume is weak.

But, that 46 points at home in a loss though. That stings.

How can Bama pass an “eye test” with that? You’d have to be blind.

You forgot to take inflation into account. Rookie move.

It’s football these days, the 46 aren’t their biggest problem.

Their biggest problem is a loss in their home field is their best credential.

No, unless several other teams fall apart, Bama should be done with regard to the playoff this year.

If Bama goes on to beat AU, that'll put them at 1-1 against the only two ranked teams they faced this year.

That doesn't cut it and it shouldn't cut it.

Sure.

A team last season that gave up almost twice that on the road played in a NY6 Bowl.

Don't start acting scared. You're acting scared.
If I was an LSU fan, I'd want to play Alabama again.
Our defense is soft as cream cheese that's been left out on the counter all day

I actually think we’d beat Alabama again, probably by more. Plus I would love the Bama melt after the second loss. The only problem is, there are other REALLY good teams that should have a chance at LSU (assuming they finish strong) since Bama already had theirs.

True. If I were an LSU fan, I'd start bitching about Ohio State.
They have a defense to back up their offense

1 loss Pac 12 champ will get the 4th spot this year. They will hype up that game between Utah and Oregon, both 11-1.

1. Bama Fatigue is at an all time high.
2. Last 2 good teams Bama faced beat them.
3. Oregon (if they are pac 12 champ) will not have lost a
game since August.

I know you guys like to troll with that.
And being 100% honest, of course 2011 lingers in the back of the minds of LSU fans.

But objectively- what's the point of the regular season, if Alabama (and Clemson) are grandfathered in?

I'm going to go on record and state I believe Alabama would beat Minnesota 10 out of 10 times. Probably Baylor too. If LSU, Clemson, Baylor and Minnesota win out, that's 4 undefeated 13-0 teams, at least 2 of which don't meet the eyeball test. Do you bump Minnesota for Alabama, and maybe Baylor for Ohio State?
Because Alabama and Ohio State certainly are in the Top 4 for talent. What's a loss, when you know the team is "better"?
